If a one or two-syllable adjective ends in -y, we change the y to an i before adding -est.
If a one-syllable adjective ends in a vowel + one consonant, we double the final consonant before adding -est.
Example : wet - wetter than - The wettest / Big – bigger than - The biggest
For most adjectives that have three syllables or more, we add most before the adjective.
