Abstract

Saint Louis College is a school in the city of San Fernando, La Union

which comprises of 7207 students and employees. The school is required to

provide enough supply of water based on the Code on Sanitation of the

Philippines. For that, this study was created to investigate the whole water

system in Saint Louis College: the supply of water the school consumes, the

wastewater it produces, and the water sufficiency and quality. The water

management in the school must be followed and implemented well since this

can help the school to achieve its academic, financial and environmental goals.

The study conducted shows that there is a scarcity in the supply of water

through determining the number of population and the per capita usage. A

design of water source was proposed to add a supply of water to solve water

supply scarcity in the school. On the other hand, the waste water disposal

system of the school should be improved by providing modern water treatment

facilities since the waste water is being discharged to the nearby pond.
