NDT ACCEPTANCE CRITERIA

A. Diaphragms.

ASME IX Section 1
a. Any crack and 1.5mm length relevant linear indications, are un-acceptable

b. Rounded indication with largest width or diameter of 5mm or greater is


unacceptable

c. Four or more in line rounded indications with 1.5 mm diameter or greater and
separated by 1.5 mm or less (edge to edge) are unacceptable.

API 687 – Blade Edge Erosions

d. Diaphragm nozzle or blade, leading trailing / trailing edge erosion from 3 to 5 mm


Width are acceptable but to be blended.

B:Turbine Casing.

Horizontal Joint .
a. Smooth surfaces are acceptable.
b. Gas cuts and eroded surfaces are unacceptable
c. Welding or Belsona metal re-builder for the repair of gas cuts and erosion in
horizontal surfaces are acceptable .
d. RTV 60 High Temp Silicon Gasket Sealant for the STG horizontal joint is
acceptable.

C. Rotors

API 687 standard


Blade Edge Erosions

Three (3m to 5 mm) width of erosion of blades above 30% from air foil in trailing or
leading edge are acceptable , but to be blended.

D. TURBINE BEARING ACCEPTANCE STANDARD

a) ISO 4386-1 for LPT.

b) ISO 8386 -3 for UT.
