Summarize the content of the book –


A. For Fiction Form Genres—Explain the characters, the setting, theme and plot of
the book.
 Long ago there was a fisher who lived with his wife by the sea. One day he caught an
unusually large flounder. The flounder said “please spare my life. I am not a fish but an
enchanted prince”. The fisherman was surprise that the fish could speak and let him go.
The fisherman arrived home, his wife asked him for the fish that she could cook for
dinner. The fisherman told her about the flounder. The wife asks him if he wish for
something before, he et the fish go. He said “what would I possibly wish fir?”. The
wife told him to go and find the flounder and tell him that she wants a hunt. The sea
was stirring when he returns, he called the flounder and told him that he wife has a
wish. The fish ask what is the wife and the fisherman said a hunt, the fish said go she
has it already. When the fisherman arrived home his found his wife and the hunt, then
she said go and tell the founder that I want a stone castle. The fisherman knew that it
was not right but he went to. The sea was green and murky when the fisherman arrived,
he called the flounder and said that she wife has another wish. The fish give her want
she wants. Then she wanted to be the king of all the land, the fisherman did not want
to be a king. The fisherman left with a heavy heart, the sea was dark and frothy when
he called the fish. He told him that his wife wanted to be the king of all lands, so the
fish said “go home. She is king”. Then he went home and said “now, wife, there is
nothing more to wish for”, the wife orders his husband to tell the fish that he wants to
be an emperor. The sea was black and boiled up from deep below the fisherman called
the flounder that his wife wants to be an emperor. The flounder said “Go, she is
emperor”. The wife was emperor and the fisherman aske her are you not satisfied now
and the wife said no. now, she wants to be a pope, the sea roared as it rose higher and
higher, the fisherman to the fish that he wife wanted to be pope. The flounder shouted
“she is pope”, as the sun rose in the morning, she said I want to be god. The fisherman
was horrified and said “I cannot ask the flounder to do this” the wife fell into a rage
and the fisherman left. The sea rose with waves as high as mountain. The fisherman
cried out “she wants to be god” “go to her” said the flounder. When the fisherman
arrived, he found the old pigsty and his wife and that is where they lived from that day
on.

Explain how the book appeals to children, their interests, developmental levels, fun
illustrations etc. Give specific examples from the book:
 The children can discuss about fishes.
 Children can discuss if what the wife was doing was right or not and why.
 They can describe how the seas was changing everything the fisherman ask for a wish.

 The illustration combines perfectly with the text and also with more details and use a
lot of colors. The story is a lot of different words that are easy for a child to understand.
