PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT MANAGER – SELLER PERFORMANCE – Amazon India – July 2017 to
present

Based on my performance in the TPM role (described below), I was promoted to SDM position in Seller
Performance team in June 2017. Seller Performance team works on various initiatives to improve
performance of third-party sellers on Amazon India marketplace. I got this promotion after spending just 4
months in my previous role, which is very rare in Amazon.

This position involves significant people and project management responsibilities. I am managing a team of
10 SDEs currently (1 SDE3 + 7 SDE2+1 SDE1+1 intern), with experience ranging from fresher to 12 years.

In addition to these responsibilities, role involves continuous interaction with business team to refine and
prioritize product roadmap for my and sister teams. My team has already completed delivery of multiple
projects in my time as manager of this team. Some of these projects are as follows

– Add 4 new use cases to seller reimbursement platform.

– Enable return pickup capabilities for seller fulfilled orders India.
– Enable Customer Service by Amazon for seller fulfilled order in India.
– Create a real time metric aggregation and decision platform to catch abusive sellers on the
marketplace.
– Migrate fee charged to seller on order cancellations to new platform and make it equal to
commission on that order.

TECHNICAL PROGRAM MANAGER – INDIA TRANSPORTATION – Amazon India – February 2017 to
June 2017

Amazon India transportation program focuses on increasing efficiency of logistic arm of Amazon India. As
TPM for this program, I was involved in following projects

– Reconciliation of packages in reverse leg of transportation. Significant delivery in this project

in 3 months that I spent on it.
– Proof of Delivery for return packages for sellers.
– Clawback for packages with wrong weight and dimension packages from sellers.

PRINCIPAL PRODUCT OWNER – BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE – Exponential – March 2016 to
February 2017

Starting March 2016, I was given additional responsibilities in Engineering org in the area of product
management. I was completely responsible for reporting resources in the company, both from operations
and engineering side. Several projects were completed to provide employees better access to already
available reports, and to integrate more data in internal company systems. Some of these projects were

– A responsive UI for campaigns reports, which was current excel based at that time.
– Integration of third party data to various internal reporting tools.
– A new BI tool which provides real time reporting to Business and allows them to really analyze
and visualize data from top level to deep depths.
– Consolidation of various reporting system inside company for more efficiency and uniformity.

DIRECTOR, BUSINESS OPERATIONS - Exponential – April 2015 to Feb 2016

Starting October 2014, various tech operations teams in company were consolidated under me, in an effort
to bring uniformity in various employee practices and increase cross-function collaboration. At the same
time, all of my old teams during my long tenure in company still reported into me. All in all, I was managing
5 teams of 31 people. Most of the people in these teams are working in Noida office with few working in
foreign offices.

I was given these additional responsibilities, as in last 8 years working for the company, I have worked with
almost every function in the company and has a working knowledge of how that function works. Following
teams were reporting into me.

– Business Intelligence (13)

– Fulltango (5)
– Contextual Analytics (6)
– Audience Extension (3)

– Application Support (4)

I generally got very good reviews from my manager and my team members on my management of these
teams. As a result, I was rated at the highest possible level in annual review process and promoted to
Director, Business Operations in April 2015 to reflect my increased responsibilities.

SENIOR MANAGER, BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE - Exponential – April 2013 to April 2015

Because of my previous technology experience and demonstrated capability of people management, I was
given additional charge of Business Intelligence (BI hereafter) team in April 2013. BI team is a central team
in Exponential, responsible of delivering 100s of report every week required by almost all teams in the
company. At the time, team had 10 members who were very good with Excel, which they used to prepare
these reports. While Excel was good enough for simple reports, it was failing badly, once we started having
requirements for more complex reports, which required data from multiple sources. To remedy this, I
designed and developed a framework in java, which has drastically reduced the time required to prepare
these reports. It’s a multithreaded framework, integrating 10 different data sources.

– Reports that previously took 2-3 hours to create now run in less than a minute.
– As a result, team capacity increased by more than 50% (almost 700 man-hours every month),
which meant that we were able to take more workload with same team strength.
– Excel repots are very error prone because of manual copy pasting. Reports produced by
framework are always accurate.
– Rolled out margin reporting project in last year, which fulfilled long-standing data intelligence
requirement of the company and had direct impact on the revenue.
– Expertise as a solution designer was instrumental in roll out of uniform rate card of sales people
in various Exponential divisions and geos.
– Because of framework, now any report can be rolled out for multiple divisions and geos with
very little extra effort.

BUSINESS MANAGER, FULLTANGO - Exponential – May 2011 to April 2013

I shifted my job profile from Product Analyst to Performance Marketing division of Exponential called
Fulltango in May 2011, as I wanted to broaden my work experience and learn new things. I was trained by
company CEO Dilip DaSilva on how to manage and optimize performance campaigns and during this time we
launched a business development team in India to bring new performance marking business in company.
This business grew from 0 to 3 million USD in first year of operation. Fulltango team is still reporting into me
and we have done $3.5 million in revenue in 2014. We have also grown the team into a self-sufficient team
of 5 members. During this time, I was completely responsible for all aspects of Fulltango business, including
but not limited to.

– Preparation of Fulltango sales pitch.

– Setup of long-term relationship with various performance advertisers.
– Campaign setup and optimization from performance perspective.
– Coordination with various other teams in company to develop various processes so that
Fulltango work continues without a hitch.
– Representing the Fulltango division at various industry conferences in US and India.
– Increasing the team capacity as the business grew to take on increased workload and exploit
available opportunity.
