The correlation between physical activity and lifestyle choices with better health and quality of
life benefits has been well documented. The current fitness guidelines for American adults
suggest participating in 150 minutes of moderate aerobic activity per week in addition to
engaging in muscle strengthening activity 2 or more days per week. Researchers for the Center
of Disease Control (CDC) have found that more than 50% of American adults do not meet the
recommended amounts of physical activity each week.
The Physical Education program at USC is committed to providing students with a worthwhile
and enjoyable learning environment while providing the necessary knowledge and tools to
adhere to a lifetime of activity and better health.
