Their dream, My goal

What is my biggest accomplishment throughout my high school years? Nothing yet, but

what will be my greatest accomplishment? When I walk on the stage when my name is being

called up to receive my diploma. You guessed it graduation. But here’s the thing I never really

cared for graduation I actually planned on not attending the ceremony and pick up my diploma at

the front office. I know sounds weird you think “what senior wants to miss the day they're being

rewarded for all the hard work they accomplished?!” well me, but that was before I realized how

much seeing me walk the stage meant to my family and my mom. I put them through a lot and I

finally thought to myself I owe it to them to walk that stage and make them proud, I’m tired of

letting them down.

I finally got my act together when an incident happened that took my mothers life away near the

beginning of my sophomore year. I seen that as an eye opener for me to stop feeling bad for

myself and do all my work, pay attention, and graduate. This is the reason why no matter how

frustrated, irritated, and tired I am of school I told myself I won’t take the easy way out and

finish up all four years of high school for her. So when I graduate on June, 6th, 2019 I’ll know

deep in my heart I came a long way to accomplish this one goal that I promised to them, and I

should be proud of myself no matter what. That day my mother will smile down from heaven

and see she didn’t fail as a mother and my family will be at my graduation smiling knowing I did

this for them. I know I haven’t accomplished this goal yet but I will, and that’s a promise I know

I’ll keep.
