Disadvantages of smoking

Smoking is a bad habit among people, so far, it is a known fact that tobacco
smoking has many disadvantages. Firstly, smokers nowadays smoke from public
places to private places with a huge frequency, which causes illness and death. In
detail, smoking harms every organ in your body such as your lungs, your heart and
blood vessels, they are all negatively affected by smoking and the chemicals in
cigarettes. For instance, smokers’ lungs are directly connected with the chemicals,
smoking for a long time can lead to lung cancer – the biggest risk to those heavy
smokers. Smoking also increases smokers’ heart rate and blood pressure, moreover,
it smells bad and causes smokers to have bad breath, it stains the teeth and it is bad
for smokers' skin. These examples show that there are so many disadvantages cause
by smoking, but although government and society have urgently advocated and
called on people to stop smoking (including printing on cigarette packages to warn
that it would lead to lung cancer) , they still continue to smoke . Secondly, the
smoke breathed by those in the vicinity of smokers, can also cause health problems
in non-smokers. In our country, it is very usual to go through a cloud of smoke
when we are on the road or going into somewhere. Sooner or later, people who are
exposed to second-hand smoke also face the risk of lung cancer and other ailments
smoking causes. It is clear that quitting smoking is extremely necessary as there are
a lot of bad effects on people.
