Five Year Plan

After graduating from Merced High School I plan on furthering my schooling at Merced

Junior College. The MJC was a good option for me because it is local and I can stay at home and

to save money while being able to work through my degree being at home. Being a student

athlete in high school, I look forward in being on in college as well. Playing basketball and

football in high school was the most fun that I had, but I feel like I am gravitating on playing

football in college. There are many differences between high school sports and college sports

due to the height and sizes of these players and with them being bigger than I am motivates me

into getting muscular and working extra hard to earn my spot on the team as a walk on. Working

is apart of my five year plan although it will not be a full time job my first years of college so

that I can focus on studying and keeping my grades up. My part time job is working through with

the code of conduct at the Levi Stadium, making sure every employee is in their right positions

and that there isn't any mishaps. To start off my first years of I will continue working part time

but after settling down, I plan on entering the field on banking by the time I get my degree. I am

currently thinking about furthering my career through Merco Credit Union due to the fact that

the hospitality there is great because I already bank through Merco. Being a first time student, I

will still be living under my parents roof until I settle down and figure out my schooling,

working, and living situation. I have multiple conversations about moving into apartments here

in town with friends so that I will have my own living space and to get the feel of adulthood,

even though I an not ready to pay bills.

For the first couple of years of living at home, I have the opportunity to save money in

order to move out and to get an apartment affordable for myself to be comfortable with and
being able to manage my money correctly. From working part time, I will be able to keep my

financial status up. Already being smart with my money, I believe that I will not have a difficult

time of saving up and having that bad habit of wasting money like crazy. Through Merced Junior

College I will have the help through financial aid to help pay for units and books that I need for

my classes.

In the future I see myself being a successful banker at Merco Credit Union. On top of

being a banker at the union, I would love to be a substitute teacher as well, after achieving on

getting my degree at the college. I plan on attending the Merced Junior College for at least two

years to knock out my prerequisites so that it will be cheaper to transfer out if I decide on going

that extra pathway. An option that I would swerve to after attending the MJC is transferring out

to the UC Merced. Learning that they are building new facilities helps me gravitate on choosing

UC Merced because it come with benefits. Just like the junior college the University of Merced

is local and I can commute from home because it is close enough. Working on my ed plan, I am

enrolled in taking summer classes to help graduate sooner from the college and to further my

career in a rapid way. Taking summer classes takes dedication because missing a day of your

summer class can ruin the course and I would not put my schooling in jeopardy in any way and I

believe I can push myself past my limits and make sure I get to my reaching point. I plan on

branching out new opportunities even though i'm pursuing my degree in banking just to keep

options open and just in case I need a plan to fall back on but hopefully it will not come down to

that point.
