2. Cracking location

- Cracking is found on the neck surface of WN Flange
- Estimated length and depth of crack is 100 mm and 10 mm respectively.

3. Compering with technical requirement and proposal

- Require thickness as per thickness calculation: T = 6mm.
- Thickness at pipe section of flange is T = 6mm.
- Wall thickness tolerance: -0/+free min mm.
- The depth is measured at the middle section of neck where the diameter as 536 mm.
Remaining thickness of pipe is calculated as following:
T_remaining = (536 – 500)/2 -10 = 8mm > 6mm (required as per calculation).
- The measurement is raw survey by inserting a paper sheet into the crack and then measure
the emerged potion of the same. The survey gives the not exact depth of crack; it is
estimated larger than the measured value due to the thickness and softness of paper sheet.
In that case the remaining thickness of flange shall less than 6mm.
