Description: The purpose of this orientation is to assist the SMET to establish a systematic and continuous
gathering, processing, interpreting, analyzing and storing data for management decision. This
is to ensure continuous improvement of the delivery of education services to achieve the
desired outputs and sustainability of Education Outcomes and organizational performance for
efficient and effective fulfillment of the division mandate.

Objectives: The following were the specific objectives of the activity:


a. explain the M&E framework, its context and assumptions;
b. analyze the scope of M & E;
c. develop the M & E Implementation Plan in terms of M & E questions,
information requirements, source of information, method of analysis and
reporting schedule employed at the different M & E levels;
d. enhance skills in preparing M & E report for higher management action;
e. describe the M & E structure, organization, roles & responsibilities & the
information flow.

Preliminaries

 Registration of participants and opening program;


 Program orientation and leveling of expectations; and
 Pre-rapid assessment.

The following were the outputs based on the objectives of this training
/activity :
1. Trained 53 School heads on M&E System
2. Rapid assessment results;
3. Reflections/portfolio on what to stop doing on M&E and what to start
doing in M&E;
4. Checklist on status of M&E practices;
5. School M&E structure, flow and their term of references;
6. School M&E Implementation Matrix;

Participants’ Participants actively participated in the activity but they requested a more concrete
Feedback examples . They demonstrated remarkable responses by raising questions but , the

objectives of all the sessions were attained.

1. Design of the Event


The training was designed to enhance the participants’ knowledge on Monitoring and Evaluation as a
system to establish a systematic and continuous gathering, processing, interpreting, analyzing and storing
data for management decision, thus participative & collective design were employed.

2. Methodology
Discussions and workshops were utilized in order to achieve the training’s objectives.
Participants were made to work by group as agreed and they were given enough time in
accomplishing their tasks.

3. Management of the Activity

The orientation were managed by the HRDD personnel/specialists headed by the Chief with the
assistance of the division personnel.

4. Resource Person

Division personnel facilitated the overall process and smooth flow of the training-workshops. The
competently delivered their topics as expected guided by the training designs and session guides
including the power point presentations.

5. Audience Participation

The participants actively participated during the orientation. They come up with relevant reactions
and questions The time allotted to every session provided opportunities of every participant to
express what they have in mind about M&E. Suggestions were raised by some participants
especially in coming up their M&E Implementation Plan of their respective divisions.
6. Logistical Arrangements
There was no problem about the training funds for School M&E Core Teams .
