ABSTRACT
This research is motivated by the problem that is the low of student
learning result. Overcoming the problem the researchers apply the CORE learning
model, which is a discussion model that can affect the development of knowledge
and reflective thinking that has 4 stages of teaching that is connecting, organizing,
reflecting, extending. This research was conducted with the aim to improve
student learning result of class XI IPA SMA Negeri 10 Kupang.
This study is a classroom action research conducted in 2 cycles with each
cycle consisting of 4 stages, namely planning stage, action implementation stage,
observation stage, and reflection stage. The instrument used by researchers in the
form of the final test of the cycle to determine student learning outcomes and
observation sheet of teacher and student activity to know the activity of students
in the learning process. Collected data was analyzed by using data analysis of
learning result, that is student's learning completeness analysis in classical and
data analysis result of observation, that is student activity analysis.
The result of the research shows that the percentage of students' learning
completeness is increased by 60% with the criteria of "unfinished" and the second
cycle test is 86,7% with "complete" criterion. While the percentage of student
activity in the learning process has increased from 63.3% with the criteria of
"active enough" in the first cycle to 93.3% with the criteria of "very active" in
cycle II. So it can be concluded that the application of CORE learning model
(Connecting, Organizing, Reflecting, Extending) on the material of composition
function and inverse function can improve student learning outcomes.
