SCOPE OF ENGINEERING ETHIC

There is large scope of ethics in every profession especially in

engineering. We are working anywhere in any profession in groups or
individually, in government or in private sector, we have to follow codes
of ethic. Ethic is basic in every profession. Even we can earn respect,
trust with money if we follow codes of ethic as boss, servant, employee,
officer, businessman.

In Engineering professional ethic gives a special preference because most

of technical works related to safety of people in our society are in hands
of engineers. As a civil engineer we design bridges, commercial buildings,
plazas and many other works related to construction are done by civil
engineers. Our small mistake can create a big problem. So according to
codes of ethic first must understand our responsibilities of safety and
risk and then developed a plan so that chances of mistakes become
lesser.

All engineers required to meet the responsibilities stated in their codes of

ethic. This requirement set a minimum, albeit a high standard of
excellence. The personal commitment of individual engineers need to be
aimed at and integrated with these shared responsibilities.

conduct. Compliance issues are about making sure that individuals
comply with professional standards, Avoid wrongdoing. Procedures are
needed in all corporations to deter fraud, theft, bribery, incompetence,
and the host of other form of outright immorality.

Very often technological developments are double aged. As engineering

project create new possibilities they also generate new danger. Moral
values are embedded at several junctures in engineering projects,
including, the basic standards of safety and efficiency, the basic
