PREFERENCES:
42. Do you have any hobbies?
Well, everyone have their own recreational /rek.riˈeɪ.ʃ n. l/ activities, and

Well, everyone have their own recreational /rek.riˈeɪ.ʃən.əl/ activities,

The first time I known about it due to my friend recommendation. And
maybe because of curiosity /ˌkhiu.riˈɒs.ə.ti/ I found it on YouTube
/ˈjuː.tuːb/. The more I watch this show, the more I becoming a fan.
"Who is that person" program with the aim /eɪm/ to help single girls to
find lovers and help couples to confess their feelings. Moreover, creating
an opportunity for LGBT community members to express themselves.
Here is the rule of the game: Players are single girls who want to find
love. Players have to eliminate people who is the third gender, have
owned and find out the right person for them. The reason I fascinate on
this show because this is the first television program has the official
participation of the 3rd gender community. Not only revealing their
status, but also bringing the stories, share about themselves, from
happiness to difficulty in daily life. Especially, the appearance of the
boys is really handsome, they also erase /ɪˈreɪz/ prejudices of people
about the LGBT community. And conveying /kənˈveɪ/ the message: In
love, everyone is equally, no matter who you are, you have the right to

shared her stories and experiences in the process of self-
improvement, becoming a master chef like today.
In this collection of more than 75 recipes, she has turned her
incredible talent into familiar dishes with a little Asian cuisine
combined with American flavors to create special dishes, easy to
make and delicious.

Is it harmful to spend too much time on a hobby?

Yes, I believe spending excessive time on a hobby may have an
adverse effect on pp. You may end up having enough time for
your priorities like family or work. For example, it’s easy for me
to lose my self in books and neglect deadlines at work.

44. Foreign star that you would like to meet

There many artists around the world who I really want a chance to meet them.
However, the person who inspire me and bring me to the US-UK music industry is
Taylor Swift. Taylor’s songs have been to the ring-tone of my phone. I love listen
to her songs and this improve my English. I also love to sing her songs wherever I
am. It a relax activities which you can learn and enjoy through it.

For the most famous album, I think it should be ‘RED’ which include “We Are
Never Ever Getting Back Together” , “I Knew You Were
Trouble” and “22” which are the most gorgeous songs. ‘RED’ has brought Taylor
to a brand new environment which is the centre of the stage.

Actually, I love her music really much which have bought me to another stage
of my life. I know it maybe does not make any of sense if it is you.

Perhaps you can listen to my idea. It will be really awesome if you can enjoy it.
However, I think you will love it really much. Try to listen to Taylor’s songs
and you will find out it is great.

45. A life-style – living style /ˈlaɪf.staɪl/ that you think is good

minimalism: Many people think of minimalism as extreme living with four white
walls /wɑːl/, a closet with only one color, nothing in the room except for a bed.
No, it's not correct
A minimalist lifestyle is a way to cut things down to a minimum. And with a
little furniture, we can pay more attention to happiness

Pure, clean, tidy and balanced are all words that can be used to describe Japanese-
life style.

In a house like in life where there are so many things, nothing stands out. It is
very difficult for us to value everything when we live in a diversity of choice,
surrounded by chaos. But by focusing on and expanding the space in which there
is nothing or little beside it, the things you decide to keep there will be prioritized
and valuable. This will help me to have a more open and comfortable space
which is improve my creation.

When simplifying what is not needed in the mind, the rest will be better handled,
optimizing work efficiency. At the same time, it also helps individuals become
more peaceful and positive.

48. CLOSE -FRIEND:

We have known each other for years since attending a statistical class
and realized both have the same opinions. Over the time, we have
developed a truly intimate relationship. For instance, we’ve done a lot
of prep talks (dong vien ) ,heart to heart when other get trouble and
be a pillar of support.
What do you think are the most important qualities for friend to
have?
Maybe the most significant thing is to be honest with each other.
Because friend is a person who sharing everything after hardship days,
they are a pillar of support. Obviously, we need to be able to trust our
friends, so honesty is vital for good friendship.

49. Good law in my country
Well to be honest, I don’t know anything about law specifically, but if I have to
think about one, I think it would be the restriction on cellphone use while driving
in my country. You know, answering phone calls or texting while riding
is really dangerous therefore the government has decided to impose this
restriction. Under this regulation, drivers using phones while driving motorbikes
have to pay a fine of 600 to 800,000 VND. They also have their driving licenses
/ˈlaɪ.s ns/ revoked /rɪˈvoʊk/ for 3 months. If a violator causes a fatal /ˈfeɪ.t l/
ə ə

accident, they will face criminal charges.

Drivers who use cell phone to text are most likely to look over their phones than the
road and can take away a life in the blink of an eye. Therefore, they fail to
concentrate and reduce their vision of the road ahead. In my opinion I think this
regulation is absolutely reasonable because with technology growing rapidly, cell
phone becomes more dangerous as it harm people’s life.

50. BFF:

We have known each other for years since attending a statistical class and realized
both have the same opinions. Over the time, we have developed a truly intimate
relationship. For instance, we’ve done a lot of prep talks (dong vien), heart to
heart when other get trouble and become a pillar of support.
To describe her more, I would say she is kind to all in a unique way and yet
proactive and in control.
Have many interesting ideas or opinions … because she a travel enthusiast.
Also good at foreign language and always has a lot of interesting ideas when it
comes to language learning and teaching. She had a time for being a part time
teacher in an English center. She fluent in Three foreign languages, English,
Chinese and Japanese in addition to her mother tongue, Vietnamese, of course. So
you can imagine, as a language teacher, she has great advantages.
Although language comes to her naturally, she knows that for others it may not,
and always tries to come up with new methods to help language learners improve
faster and achieve better results. In addition to imparting knowledge, she also
does it in an interesting way. For example, at the start of each class, she would
have all the students stand up and play some warm-up game instead of going
straight into doing routine teaching stuff. Some of the games are invented by
herself and I must say they are all well thought out. I learn a lot from observing her
classes and look forward to working more with her in the future.

51. Mom: admire/ədˈmaɪə / r

I revere /rɪˈvɪə / my mother for her adorable behavior on top of her smartness and

when I was late to return home because I absorbed /əbˈzɔːbd/ in playing with
children in the neighborhood. After an hour or so, I noticed my mother at home.
I was horrified that my mother would be angry with me and she would punish me.
But, when my mother saw me, she had a warm smile on her face. Then she
hugged me passionately. At that moment, I realized how much she loves me and
cares for my safety and wellbeing.
The reason I admire her, well - she is caring, compassionate, and possesses
kindness and love for everyone. She is an ideal mother who raised 2 children and
ensured their quality education and moral values. She has sacrificed a lot and
had never complained about anything to us. She is the person who reminds me
of the power of love and affection.
To describe her more, I would say she is kind to all in a unique way and yet
proactive and in control. She acts as good example for me because I also dream of
becoming a businessman in the future who can contribute a lot to the society so she
has left great influence on me.

that I enjoy spending time with him is that he has a positive attitude towards
anything. Actually, I have never seen him looking depressed or hopeless. he is
great fun to be with.

PLACE:
53. Da Lat 1p26
Da Lat has temperate climate all year round. The city has many dense pine
forests and famous for its colonial /kəˈləʊ.ni.əl/ architecture. We started travel
early in the morning. We already booked a room in homestay and leaved our
suitcases in there. Next, we rented a bike and travel around the city about 4 hours.
Then we spent all night in the market and enjoyed the festival before going back to
homestay. On the following day, I suggest to traveled “Tuyet tinh coc” which is
the famous place because of their beauty. It is actually an abandoned quarry.
After a period of no exploitation, rain and groundwater have created a strange lake
of jade /dʒeɪd/ green. The road is extremely tough and it took us about 2 hours to
reach destination. After a difficult journey, the natural beauty will make you feel
no disappointment. It's been the most amazing experience I can ever possibly

55. Historical building (Saigon central post office)

Saigon Central Post Office, is one of the typical architectural works in Ho Chi

The building is built according to gothic architecture which is a European-style
combined with Asian decorative features.
Back to the first day I came here,
The beautiful features of the 3 storeys /ˈstɔː.ri/ building, seen from the outside, are
curved windows, a large clock above the main entrance of the building and the
Vietnamese flag is flying in the wind.
People came here, partly to see the unique architecture of the post office, immersed
in a world of antiquity, from a letterbox, to phone booths. One can also rest easily
on a wooden bench, which is over a hundred years old. Entering the post office in
any corner can catch a /ɡɪmps/ of old Saigon. (Mọi người đến đây, một phần để xem

ACTIVITIES
58. Sport:
I'm not a sports lover so I don't know how to play any sport. However, in the past, I
used to go to the fitness center to practice because that time my health and spirit
were exhausted so I needed a place to clear up.
As a result, the gym gives you many benefits in physique /fɪˈziːk/, health and spirit.
Throughout my time I often participate in dance classes and learn some useful
skills. Gym helps build muscle fat loss through jogging exercises or weight
lifting. I also took yoga classes and realized why yoga is so popular today.
Because it helps the body toned and relaxed after a hardworking day.

59. A water sport:

Water sports include a variety of things such as fishing, swimming, skiing, so on

So my favorite water sport is swimming. There are some reasons why swimming is
popular. Firstly, swimming is a sport for all age groups. Secondly, swimming is
cheap. You don’t have to spend much money on it. For other water sports, you
need water sports equipment, but for swimming, all you need is just a swimsuit
that makes you feel comfortable and a goggle /ˈɡɒɡ. l/ that keeps water from your

eyes

swimming is not only popular, but it is also one of the best all body workout a
person can do. Besides its physical benefits, swimming is also a great recreational
sport giving you peace of mind to continue with your day.

60. Football match:

I don't have much knowledge about football. However, an impressive football
match and keep me memorize until now. It is the U23 viet nam against with u23
uzbekistan /ʊzˌbek.ɪˈstɑːn/
Whatever the outcome of U-23 Uzbekistan in the final, the Vietnamese team won
the cup in the hearts of millions of Vietnamese fans because of the miracles they
created during this tournament. Our young players stood before the opponent's
pressure attack for 120 minutes. At times, I can't believe that our young players are
still running at the end of the official time and extra time. Even when being led 1-
2, U-23 Vietnam still stubbornly fought. Moreover, under extremely rigorous
/ˈrɪɡ. r.əs/ weather, snow covered grass. At the end of the match, the team did not
ə

forget to greet the fans and plug the national flag on the ground. That scene left me
with pride as well as respect.

EXPERIENCES
61. Job:
Each person must earn a job. Someone is a doctor, someone is an engineer, there
are also people who become directors but some people have to work as hired
labor. For myself, perhaps the flight attendant is a job that I have loved for a
long time.
The most important reason is probably traveling around the world, discovering the
unique culture and the great works and architecture of many countries. Besides,
the aviation industry also plays an important part for domestic travel. It not only
contributes to the development of Vietnam's tourism but also attracts the
development of economy, culture and society. It is an opportunity to promote
Vietnamese culture and tourism to all over the world.
Choosing airline industry is really a difficult decision. Because this is not a simple
job, on the contrary it contains a lot of difficulties that require very high
responsibility and safety. Not only that, flight attendants must always know how to
smile friendly and hospitable, pay close attention and worry for passengers during
the long flight. Therefore, the flight attendants not only have good appearance, but
also have a communication skills and ability to cope with situations. Although
there are many requirements and complexity however, being flight attendant is
always my dream job.

day I was finishing my lunch in a small restaurant then I received a call from
strange number. Because I am running a small shop so receiving calls from
strangers is normally to me. I picked up and the woman on the other side said: “I
want to buy all your commodities about 10 stuff, but I’m going to travel to Japan
tomorrow, after 1 month I will come back to VN. Hence /hens/, the money transfer
will be difficult and I need your cooperation. Honestly, I was ecstatic
/ɪkˈstæt.ɪk/ and I asked her what I would need to do next. Then she sent for me a
website and ask me to fill my bank account information on that. Then I caught
myself wondering “Why do I need to fill my bank account password? There is no
case like this before”. So I asked her about my curiosity /ˌkjʊə.riˈɒs.ə.ti/ and
receiving no answer with hanging my phone suddenly. Then I warn /wɔːn/ this

64.A time you got up early
Well calling myself not a morning person is understatement /ˌʌn.dəˈsteɪt.mənt,
so when I get up early must be sth important. The nearest occasion when I had to
be get up early was last year when I took the IELTS test. It started at 8 in the
morning so naturally I had to get up at 6. When I got out of the house it was still
dark outside. It took me 20 minutes by motorbike to arrive at the hotel where the
test was going take place. Some other candidates had already come and were
sitting inside the lounge /laʊndʒ/, all looking quite drowsy /ˈdraʊ.zi/ and nervous.
I found myself a seat so I just do sth to relax. At 8 o’clock, everyone was called
into a large meeting room where the organizers would have a short presentation
on the test process. We were all required to leave personal belongings /bɪˈlɒŋ.ɪŋz/
outside the exam room. Anyway, the test was not good and I received the result
which not as I expected. I think I could’ve done better, if hadn’t been sleepy at the
start of the test.

suddenly their dogs ran out, which is a kind of bulldogs. It bites my leg and
give me a painful and run away. It left me a bruise after 1 day. Because I was so
nervous, I went online to find out more information by going to the forum of
dog lovers to asked about my status. and I received a lot of sincere advices, so I
met the owner of the dog and asked about dog's vaccination and seeing their
healthy sign whether strange. I finally understood the problem and fortunately,
nothing bad happened, the dog was vaccinated carefully. Anyway, the internet
has two sides, I recommend the people around that they should go to the health

This actually happened the last time I traveled to Dalat.
After riding for about 15 minutes, my bike started to make weird noises, then the
whole engine began shaking violently. I hurriedly shut the engine, getting off the
bike to examine it. And as I suspected, the engine wouldn’t start again. So we had
to drag it along the street, looking for a repair shop. Luckily it didn’t take me long
to find one, and the repairman only needed 10 minutes to fix my bike. It wasn’t a
happy experience but at least we still reach our destination. (mo ta them ve cam

5. Describe sth that was lost by others but found by you (vi cua bo)
Just last week my mom lost her purse /pɜːs/. she was sure she dropped it some
where in the house, so she went everywhere looking for it but found nothing. I
know my mom is a bit forgetful so it could have been anywhere, in her room,
outside the house or in one of the restaurants that she frequents.
The purse contains important identification papers and bank cards, and getting
them redone is a big hassle /ˈhæs. l/ .
ə

I thought I’d lend her a hand, looking first inside our house then went out asking
around to see if anyone has picked it up. Unfortunately, after hours of searching
the purse was still nowhere to be seen. I’d gone home and almost given up hope
when I noticed sth in purple lying under the couch/sofa in our living room. It was
my mom’s purse! She must drop accidentally it there.
6. Describe a piece of good news you heard
7. Describe a time you had to change your plan
Normally, I plan my activities very meticulously /məˈtɪk.jə.ləs.li/ (tỉ mỉ)

● But, sometimes things do not go as planned and one has to change one’s plans.
/plæn/

● Here I am going to talk about a time when the weather forced me and my friends
to change our plan

● I vividly remember a time when my friends and I had planned to have a trip to the
beach /biːtʃ/ with the aim to refresh ourselves and to relax after the final term
examination. Everything needed such as food, drinks and even a change of
clothes /kləʊðz/ was well-prepared. I was so excited about this trip that I couldn’t
sleep, and ended up chatting with my friends all night. However, on the next day, it
was raining heavily, despite the fact that the weather was forecast to be nice and
warm. As a result, we made a decision to put off our plans.
Instead, we threw a party at my friend’s house. We made some favorite dishes
together, and then played cards. The ones who lost had to buy snacks for all of us.
Surprisingly, we soon forgot all about our misfortune /ˌmɪsˈfɔː.tʃuːn/ over the
picnic. By the way, we enjoyed this party a lot, it helped us to chill out and get
ready for the new term.
8. Describe an important plant in your country (cay lua)
Well I’d love to talk about rice, the most important agricultural plant in my
country.

Ever since I was in my early elementary years, the rice plant has appeared in
almost every subject, from literature to natural science to geography. And even in
real life, the rice plant can be spotted all across the countryside around Vietnam.

It never ceases to amaze me how such a simple plant could support a whole
nation’s economy. Up to this day, millions of Vietnamese families are still
dependent on the cultivation of rice to make ends meet. And the fact that Vietnam
has become one of the world’s leading rice exporters is more solid proof of the
relevance of this plant in my country. Besides this, rice has been an indispensable
part of the main meal of most families for centuries and children practice the habit
of eating rice from a very young age, and as for the older generation, they cannot
go a day without rice in some form or the other.

Over thousands of years, the rice plant has played a really important role in
Vietnamese culture and many traditions and ceremonies originate from the farmers
hopes for an abundant crop, and many of these traditions are considered as
important established customs to foreign visitors.

I think that the rice plant has become one of the greatest symbols for the
Vietnamese spirit and deserves large appreciation from all generation

TIME MANAGEMENT:
1. Are you good at organizing time?
No, I’m not good at organizing time. Though I know that taking the time to
organize makes my work and study more effective, I always find that the only
thing that drives me is deadline.

2. How do you usually organize time?

Well, normally I’ll list the tasks in hand in the morning, and do them in a row
in the daytime; but if there is something really emergency, I’ll put priority on
it.

3. Do you think planning is important for time management?

Yes, I feel that planning is the start point of time management. Once you have
plan what to do and when in the first place and then stick to it, then you will have
time to do them and achieve your goal.

Why do you think some people pay to learn time management?

Well, I guess that’s probably because time management is a systematic course that
contains several skills and techniques so that you need a teacher to understand
them closely and follow them in your own practices.

5. Do you think children should learn to manage time?

Yes, I believe that time management is a life-long job and the younger you learn
it, the more benefits you will get. It helps children to prioritise, plan and pace their
tasks and is a communication tool between home and school
6. Why do some people find it hard to follow their plans?

Well, the reason why difficult to follow plans is probably people are distracted
with their surroundings. If you notice, most people set all these plans and goals
usually at night, before sleep, or when all is quiet. Then a lot of people end up
getting distracted and veer off course during the day. (bị phân tâm và xoay
chiều trong ngày.)
7. How would you teach your children time management?

I believe there are several steps to help children time management. Firstly, I should
be a role model. Unorganized, chaotic parents usually have unorganized, chaotic
children. Therefore, I should demonstrate with my behavior, how a child can be a
successful time manager. Besides, help them make a hierarchy of priorities they
can use as a master checklist to make better time management decisions. For
example: prioritize the following values: family, school, personal development,
community and friends. Finally, provide children with the necessary tools they
need to succeed. Alarm clocks, wrist watches and personal calendars, for example,
can help them focus on necessary activities.

8. Do old people and young people manage time in a similar way?

Well, between the two, old people would like to put more time on leisure activities
as they are retired from working position, and have plenty of time to do what they
like at ease. For example, they will probably spend more time in the nearby garden,
or travel around. On the contrary, young people will definitely put priority on
work, therefore, their time management would be more work-oriented, and other
things, like family time and social activities would sometimes give way to work.

Idioms
Better learn your friend than your teacher.

1. What time do you like to study?

2. What’s the best time for you to study?
3. Do you like to study alone or with your friends?
4. Who do you usually study with?
I will probably go with studying in the evening, because it would be very quiet at
that time and there would be no much other distractions; whereas, you know, I
cannot concentrate on the books in the morning, and even drowsy after breakfast.

I prefer to study with someone else, especially my girlfriend. There are several
advantages. Firstly, if I find something difficult, I can discuss with him/her, and
solve the problem much easier; besides, group study can help you find something
important but you have ignored; what more important is that studying alone is
much more stressful, especially when facing the final test.
WEATHER
Well, VN is a tropical country, so its pretty much hot and humid year round.

I’d consider myself a cold weather person. I love crisp morning at the end of fall
and chill of the winter. Maybe its because we have to bundle up as the weather turn
cold, and I love wearing sweaters and overcoats.

You know, I gotta say yes, especially when it rains. I mean, I cannot go out and run
my errands if it’s pouring outside. The road gets really slippery, so its quite
dangerous to drive. There are many consecutive accidents happened due to the
rain. Besides, you will definitely be soaked if you decide to go out.
