Non Renewable Energy
• A non-renewable sources cannot be replenished in a short period of time

• Coal,petrolem,Nature gas,propane,and Uranium

• Used to:

Generate Electricity

Heat homes

Fuel cars

Manufecture Products

Classification Of Non Renewable Energy Resources

There are two basic types is

 Fossile Fuels

 Neclear Fuels

Fossile Fuels:-

• Formed from the remains of tiny sea plants and animals that died hundreds of million of year ago.

• Dead plants and animals sank to the bottom of the sea.

• Buried by sediment and sand which turn into rock.

• Pressure and heat chemically change the mixture into hydrocarbons.

Fossile Fuel are farther divide into four types

 Oil

 Coal

 Natural Gas

 Propane
PETROLEUM

• Oil wells are dug 6000-20000 feet below the surface.

• Primary use:

Transportation

Refind into gasoline

NATURAL GAS

• Colorless and odorless gas

• Primary use:

Half of nation’s homes.

• Chemical name is methane.

• Industry is the largest consumer in the pakistan.

• cleaner burning fossile fuel.

• Transported by pipeline.
COAL

• Primary use:

Generating electricity

• 42.2% of the nation’s electricity.

• coal is the most abundant fossil fuel of Pakistan.

• Tharparkar District of Sindh province in pakistan leading place that produce coal.

• Transported by Train.

• Totel coal in pakistan almost 9,629.

PROPANE

• Created by processing natural gas and petroleum.

• colorless and odorless gas that is compressed to a liquid.

• Primary use:

Heating

• Portable source of heat energy.

• Used most often in rural areas and on farms.

Nuclear Energy

• Nuclear energy is a powerful source of energy, generated during a nuclear reaction, by change in the
nucleus of an atom. The source of nuclear energy is the mass of the nucleus and energy generated during
a nuclear reaction is due to conversion of mass into energy.

• TWO WAYS TO OBTAIN NUCLEAR ENERGY

 Nuclear fission

 Nuclear fusion

URANIUM

• Heat is created through nuclear fission.

• US leads the world in production of nuclear energy.

• Nuclear fuel rods still radioactive after use.
