DAY 1

I visited the organization and the Managing director explains me about the history
and set up of AR industries, Balaramapuram
History
AR industries is a manufacturing unit of latex collection cup founded by Shri
Ayyappan .The companies production unit is situated in Ottasekharamangalam
and the supply unit is in Balaramapuram. AR INDUSTRIES is started in 2011.in the
starting time they only produce latex collection cup, at present they are manufacturing
spotas and cup hanger.
The latex collection cup used for the collection of Rubber Latex from
rubber tree, and they are also engaged in retail trading of formic acid which is
used as coagulant for obtaining rubber from latex.
The proprietor Mr. Ayyappan started this firm as a small unit and guided
by the force of simple life ,sweet family ,good friends ,poignant customers and
their streaming support AR industries now develop in to one of the major
suppliers of rubber planters in and around of Trivandrum .

I consult the manager and study about the matters relating to detailed
structure of the organization.

Uses of products
1. Latex Collection Cup
Latex collection cups are used to collect latex from rubber tree .Latex collection cups
are available in 2 capacities-600 ml & 900 ml.
2. Cup hanger
Cup hangers are bused to leep the collection cups in place below the spotas .They are
made of GI pipe and tied on to the trees with the help of plastic thread.
3. Spotas
Spotas are made of galvanized iron or tin sheet folded along its length in o a V
shape.it is placed at the end of the tapping cut to guide latex in tom the collection
cup. While fixing the spotas it must be ensured that the cambium is not injured.
Raw materials
There are 3 types of raw materials are used.
They are: - 1.PP Granule
2. GI wire
3. GI sheets
PP Granule - it is the raw material of latex collection cup
GI wire- raw material of cup hanger
GI sheets- Raw material of spotas

This day I got some time to know about marketing department of organization.

Sales Man

Marketing Department

Marketing department is responsible for increase sales and providing service. Besides
this department introduces promotional activities, arrange advertisement and achieve
target sales and so on. This department helps to lead the sales and revenue.
The sales man salary is based on the sales of the products .He get an fixed amount of
salary plus commission .The commission is based on the volume of sales.

Commission rate is 2% on sales.

It is a motivation to the sales man to increasing the sales.

DAY 7

I visit the management department and observe some important regarding the
organization

Productions and cost of one cycle period

 One business cycle is two months

Two months have 50 working days

 Latex collection up

They are having a machine for the production of latex collection cup. This is
machine product so it provide best quality. Good finishing and durable.

One day three shifts are running in the factory.

They are having two machines for the production of handle hanger.

One day two shifts working .One hour production is 200 nos 2.5 Kg GI wire use for the
production.

One hour production of two machine=200*2=400

One hour productionuse of GI wire =2.5*2=5 KG

Rate of One KG GI wire=Rs 70

One day production=400*16=64ooNos


One day use of GI wire=5*16=80 Kg

One business cycle period= 80*50=4000Kg

Amount of 4000Kg GI wire=4000*70=Rs 280000

DAY 8

 Spotas
Spotas is also manufactured by machine
One day two shifts working. One hour production is200 Nos for 1KG GI sheet
One hour production of two machine =200*2=400Nos
Rate of GI sheet =16*2=32 KG
One day use of GI sheet =32*50 = 1600 Kg
Amount of 1600Kg GI sheet =1600*60=Rs 96000
Total working capital of raw materials =Rs 96000+Rs 280000+96000=Rs
1336000/-
The manager sir also explains me about the expenses in the organization.

Inventory Control:-

The goal for a business is to invest the least amount in inventory while maintaining
specific operating requirements. Ideally the inventory control in place allows the
business to supply needs in regards to production or to the customer at the precise
moment needed at the minimum price. Successful inventory control keeps waste and
surplus at a minimum and efficiently handles storage, production and distribution of
inventory.

Balancing supply and demand:-

Balancing supply and demand involves replacing consumed items and liquidating
seasonable items.

Safety Stock:-

When controlling inventory, one function is maintaining safety stock. This involves
having a better stock in case of an unexpected delay in replacing inventory or excess
sales.

Geographical Specialization:-

Geographical specialization in regards to inventory involves maximizing the assets of


each of the business locations ,factors to consider include energy costs, location, labour
and transportation.

I consult HR manager and he explains me about the strength and weakness of the
organization.

I met the HR manager and he explain me about the opportunities and threats of the
organization.
 Opportunity

 Similar type of unit/business is very few .So completion is very low


 The owner/MD has high experience which helps to run the unit smoothly.
 Moderate cost of the products very acceptable to the market.
 Threat

 The products like acid/formic acid is vulnerable or injurious to health


 Less supplier sources or available sources are too far away from unit.
