Instructions: To contribute to the goal of preparing reflective practitioners, Student Teachers will write an Action Plan at the end of their
First, Second and Third Field Experience with input from their Co-operating Teacher and/or Field Supervisor. The Action Plan synthesizes
each Field Experience’s evaluation, links each Field Experience to the next, establishes goals for improvement and forms an agenda for
discussion between the Student Teacher, Co-operating Teacher and Field Supervisor at the beginning of the subsequent Field Experience.
For Field Experience 1 only (excluding Physical Education students), the Action Plan will be completed during the co-requisite Professional
Seminar course.

I have shown ‘ Thorough’ to ‘Advanced’ development in the following Professional Competencies developed during this Field Experience:

- Competency 12: To demonstrate ethical and responsible professional behavior in the performance of his or her duties.
Throughout this internship, I have demonstrated professional conduct in aspects such as punctuality, dressing, and respecting
confidentiality. I have also carefully observed my cooperating teacher as well as the other staff in the school in order to evaluate the
differences in ethical behavior from one person to another. By doing that I have begun to understand which behavior I would like to
mimic as a future teacher and which behavior I do not personally condone.

- Competency 10: To cooperate with members of the teaching team in carrying out tasks involving the development and evaluation of
the competencies targeted in the programs of study, taking into account the students concerned.
I had multiple opportunities to cooperate with my CT as well as other teachers during this field experience; I created lesson plans in
collaboration with my CT and took charge of certain parts of the daily classroom routine. I was able to see the importance of
collaborating with others in the teaching profession in order to provide the best care for our students (e.g. sharing concerns about a
student, asking for advice, etc.).

- Competency 9: To cooperate with school staff, parents, partners in the community and students in pursuing the educational
objectives of the school.
I really enjoyed taking part in school activities and getting involved in the school community. Fortunately, I was able to learn a lot
about the school's culture as I interacted with parents outside of the school and during a "Welcome to Kindergarten" day. I look
forward to cooperating with the school staff, the students, and the parents in my next field experience.

- Competency 3: To develop teaching/learning situations that are appropriate to the students concerned and the subject content with
a view to developing the competencies targeted in the programs of study.
I successfully took into account the various differences (language, background, etc.) of the students in my classroom when I planned
activities and lessons. I was also able to foresee possible obstacles in the classroom and planned accordingly in order to avoid or
minimize their impact on students’ learning.
I would like to improve my skills in the following Professional Competencies developed during this Field Experience:

- Competency 11: To engage in professional development individually and with others.
Even though I have been able to deeply reflect on my begging identity as a teacher this semester with the help of teachers, staff, and
my seminar professor, I still need to work on it. I think that it is necessary for me to have regular contact with other professionals in the
field in order to be able to form a strong teaching identity and, ultimately, create an ideal learning environment in my future classroom.

- Competency 6: To plan, organize and supervise a class in such a way as to promote students' learning and social development.
While I believe that I have significantly improved this aspect of my teaching during this field experience, I still have a lot to learn. I
would like to learn more classroom management strategies and be able to spend time in schools in order to practice these skills.

- Competency 2: To communicate clearly in the language of instruction, both orally and in writing using correct grammar, in various
contexts related to teaching.
Being able to communicate clearly with students is one of the most essential skills required for teaching. It is very important that
teachers feel comfortable communicating in the language of instruction and that they minimize mistakes in their language. Since I am
not an English or French native speaker, I am always trying to improve my oral and written langue skills in order to be a good example
for my students.

-Competency 1: To act as a professional inheritor, critic, and interpreter of knowledge or culture when teaching students.
To further develop my philosophy of education and to keep developing as a teacher, I need to have a good understanding of the
profession and the teaching preparation program. I hope to be able to develop a critical understanding of the profession and the
knowledge to be taught in my future internships.

I will make use of the following strategies for improvement:

Competency 11: To engage in professional development individually and with others.
To keep developing my professional identity, I will surround myself with people in the educational field and reflect on their classroom
experiences in order to determine which practices lead to the best academic and personal outcomes for students. I will also research
various instructional practices as I perform evidence-based teaching. By doing so, I will be able to see which practices resonate with
my personal identity as well as my teaching philosophy.

Competency 2: To communicate clearly in the language of instruction, both orally and in writing using correct grammar, in various
contexts related to teaching.
Considering that my third and fourth field experiences are around the corner, it is crucial that I focus on improving my Eglish language
skills as soon as possible. I will be working on my English teaching skills throughout this summer as I will be teaching English as a
second language to Italian children. Therefore, I will be actively working on my grammar, communication, and lesson planning skills.

Competency 6: To plan, organize and supervise a class in such a way as to promote students' learning and social development.
I would like to improve my classroom management skills before my third field experience. I will be working on this throughout the
summer as I will be placed with various groups of students in each camp. Furthermore, I will take full advantage of the week-long
training by learning multiple classroom management strategies for a wide array of age groups.

The Action Plan is to be discussed with your Field Supervisor and Co-operating Teacher at the start of the subsequent Field Experience.
