Note: 1) These are average data for use in conveyor design program, for sufficiently reliable

result. One can use own specific data as per actual situation.

2) Fluid coupling value is primary side mk2 + secondary side mk2. This total is to be used as

program calculates it as an equivalent to 'secondary side + 15% of (primary side + motor).

Derivation of primary side mk2 of fluid coupling and secondary side mk 2 of fluid coupling from

given fluid coupling total mk2 and motor mk2.

Let P = Primary side mk2 of fluid coupling. Let S = Secondary side mk2 of fluid coupling.
Let F = Fluid couplng total mk2. Let M = Motor mk2.

So, as per first statement of this note, F = P + S ………. Equation - 1.

Also, as per second statement in this note, P + S = S + 0.15(P + M) ………. Equation - 2.

Cancelling 'S' from both sides of equation - 2 gives, P = 0.15(P + M). So, P = 0.15P + 0.15M.

Therefore, 0.85P = 0.15M. Therefore, P = 0.1765M … Answer - 1 (to be used always).

Substituting answer - 1 in equation - 1 gives, F = 0.1765M + S ……….Equation - 3.

Solving equation - 3 further gives, S = F - 0.1765M … Answer - 2 (to be used always).

3) mk2 = GD2 ÷ 4
