PROPOSAL
Director /Assistant
of Photography

Director of Photography: David García García

Assistant of Photography: Juan Andrés Betancur
BASIC PROPOSAL
Our proposal for the movie in terms of photography is basically working a lot
with the lights, because the genre of the film is suspense and horror, the light
work is very important. we will work with the clear darks, focusing the light in
specific spots, and playing with shadows to show a suspense environment.
working with the shadows is going to enhance the experience of the suspense,
because the plot requires a type of ghost that is going to be represented with the
shadows. With our equipment, we are able to enhance the suspense experience,
in terms of photography our equipments let us have a variety of playing with
light to have different environments that improve the production of the film. for
the purpose of simulate in the better way terror in the spectator.

MATERIALS AND RESOURCES

Involving materials and resources needed for the film, it is crucial to have to have
a Sony N-X CAM, the camera that we are using to film the entire film, a flex that
would allow us to play with the brightness of the environment, especially when
the light is being focused in an specific place, 3 lights with tripods to light the
recording studio properly depending on the scene and what type of light we
what, a tripod for the camera to do steady shot where the camera don't need to
be moved, two different types of microphones, the Boom microphone, to record
scenes in which plenty of characters are talking and they are not near to each
other, and a flap Mic, to record the one where the actors are near or there is only
one actor needed. also we need as a resource a house in the country side, in this
case Andres García's house in Cajicá, where all the film is going to take place, we
chose this specific location because it is the most proper for recording the film, it
has a lot of antique decorations and furniture that give a dark feeling, and help
creates a scary environment.

SCENE BY SCENE
Scene 1
The idea of this scene is to give a hint of the end and to
present the characters, the location and the environment of
the movie. The movie at this point will stay calm.
Scene 2
The scene will be shot in the interior, at night and the location
is the movie room. For this scene we should do a shot with
the focus on the credits of the movie the characters are
watching. After that the camera should go backwards and
rotate in order to do a general shot of the characters looking
scared. Then it cuts. Then the camera focus on Jose, we
would do an American shot of Jose standing up and shutting
the projector off. Then we cut.
The characters talk (we do American and first shots)

The idea of this scene is to play with the movements and

personality of the actors with a selection of shots. By doing
this we can get a better job in showing the interaction
between all the characters.

Scene 3
The scene will be shot in the interior, at night and the location is
the second floor. For this we will do American shots and we will
change from Daniel to Jose while they are playing. Every time
someone is going to hit the ball we will film. Then we will record
an over the shoulder of Daniel playing solitary. And finally, we
would do a medium shot of Felipe back while he is teasing the
players.
The characters talk (we do American and first shots)
After they talk we do a general shot of the players of ping pong
still playing. Then we cut after a sound and we do general shot
of all the characters looking through the window. Then we
rotate the camera to do a general shot of a curtain in which we
will do a close up in order to focus on the shadow of a women.
The characters talk (we do American and first shots)
First shot of Andres Screaming and the hands of Daniel shutting
him. Then we do a shot from the neck and face of Felipe and
Andre Staring at each other.
The characters talk (we do American and first shots)
First shot of the window and focus at what's outside.
The characters talk (we do American and first shots)
First shot of the hands of Daniel and Jose taking the stick. Now a
general shot from the floor and focus in the stairs and how both
characters are walking down the stairs, while they disappear in
the dark.
The idea of this scene is to play with the actors with a selection
of shots, so the public can know the characters and get along
with the story. By doing this we can get a better job in showing
the interaction between all the characters and to show the
relationship and the personality of each of this character.
Scene 4
This scene will be shot in interior, at night and the location
is the house corridor- and the Living room and the kitchen.
General of the corridor then we cut. We do a first shot of
the light turn up. Then we do an American shot of Jose
with the hand in the light switch. General shot of the
corridor with lights illuminating. While we focus in the
corridor while both children walk throw them. While they
walk, we do cuts where we focus in their feet, and their
backs.

The characters talk (we do American and first shots)

We do a general shot of the living room and they pass
through the camera and enter the living room. We do a
first shot of the curtains open and focus on the in the night
outside. Then we follow the characters from the side until
they enter the kitchen.

The idea of this scene is to play with the rooms and the
space in order to make the movie scarier. The movements
of the actors should show how they are feeling in an
empty house and with all the strange things happening.
The shots should be fast in order to show panic.
Scene 5
The idea of this scene is to play with the rooms and
the characters. The focus we are going to give in the
shots should make the film scarier as the sound
production help it. The shots should make the
audience uncomfortable and feeling scary, because
in the shots we will focus in everything of the house
that looks scarier. The movements of the actors
should show how they are feeling, and we should
focus in that, so their decisions make sense.

Scene 6
The idea of this scene is to play with the feeling of
the spectator. The focus we are going to give in the
shots should make the film to create panic and an
acceleration in the heart beat of the spectator. The
shots should make the audience uncomfortable and
with a lot of tension, they should feel the danger.
Scene 7
The idea of this scene is to play with the rooms and
the house. The focus we are going to give in the
shots is on the movement and interaction of the
characters. The sound should help with what the
shots will look like. Because in the shots we will focus
in everything of the house that is with an absence of
light or the items that look horror. then the
movements of the actors should show how tense is
the situation and for that the camera will move faster.

Scene 8
The idea of this scene is to play with all the feelings
and the tension that had been created during the fil,
and for that we will use the perspective of the camera
from the window to show that there is a decision to
make. In the shots we will focus in the characters
expressions and movements, and use a specific
angle of the camera to hide the final and the
presence of that horror thing that is trying to kill the
characters.

Scene 9
The idea of this scene is to give a plot twist in the
drama. We are going to use the same scenario of the
first scene (a calm environment, where the characters
are chilling out)
DIARY
Finally, we had to make changes when filming.
The first reason we made changes was
because the time was shorter for the filming, so
we have to made scenes more simple in order
to finish the film on time. Also because we
were actors we had to first act and then check
the record. We had some shots. Finally, we
were able to do a good job and follow our
references in order to get a great horror movie.
In the rest we did follow our proposal and all
the planning and that’s the reason why we did
a great job.
