Failure Leads to Success

Good afternoon everyone,

Who here has ever failed at something and not attempted to get back up after? I have

come here today to speak on behalf of everyone who has been let down or failed at what they are

trying to achieve. As Thomas Edison said, “I have not failed I’ve found 10,000 ways that won’t

work.” The only time you fail is when you give up. When it came to the light bulb Thomas

Edison attempted 1,000 times before he was successful. It’s a lot of work but now we have the

light bulb because he did not give up. When you get knocked down you need to get back up and

keep trying. Not reaching for your goals will only hurt you and probably others in the long run. If

you want something, go for it even if it seems nearly impossible. The Wright Brothers had a

dream to fly. It was considered impossible in the 1900’s, but they ignored everyone that let their

idea down and invented a machine that allowed them and everyone else to fly. So what I am

saying is if you want to fly, then fly. If you want to fall then it is your decision to fall nobody

else’s. It doesn’t matter if some people don’t support your idea but believing in yourself should

be enough motivation. It may be hard to go on and keep trying when nobody believes in you, but

you may have a possibility to prove them wrong. I’m speaking to you about this because I know

what it is like to have a dream and have nobody to support or help you. But I kept on trying and

trying and at one point I thought it was impossible but little did I know everything would come
together at the end, and impacted myself and others around me. Now I look at myself today and

realize that dreams of becoming successful was not a coincidence I had to work hard every day

with lots of failure and disappointment but eventually reached my goal. I saw something I

wanted and I went for it. Yes, I may have thought about giving up and forget about my goal, but

I did not want to accept failure. So I got back up and kept going. No matter what obstacles you

come across you need to find a way around it, even if it is hard, you have to pass it. So keep

striving and fly, don’t fall.
