Regarding my communication skills, I believe it has a positive outcome when it comes to clearly stablishing
my ideas and motivations when talking to my superiors and co-workers, as well as allowing them to fully
express themselves in the same way, always perceptive and looking for a way in which we can both end
up with a clear goal and a way to achieve it while working together. This also means that I am capable of
both recognizing my own strengths and weaknesses as well as my co-worker’s or director’s in order to
stablish the best way to work going forward.

However, I believe that the main aspect that needs improvement would be taking the time to look back
and analyze the way I have worked in the past (whether it is with the same people, others or individually)
as well as setting time apart to talk during the elaboration of a project so that every people involved can
talk and listen to each other. After every task and goal is assigned to I tend to work by myself without
taking that much consideration into stablishing periods of time in which we can talk or update each other
on how work is going as well as how we feel working with each other as a part of the same team. This
applies to both co-workers and me.

The communication skills that I’ve developed, I believe have a positive effect on my directors and co-
workers as I tend to be direct and clear with my motives, skills and updates. If I am capable or willing of
doing something or not, I am clear as to why and how and specific on the details. People tend to gravitate
to this sort of communication as they are attracted to knowing exactly what I can do and when I will do it,
creating a feeling of ease and calmness and improving the results on the task at hand. However, I tend to
expect the same thing in return from my co-workers and directors and when people are not capable of
being as clear or direct as I am, they can start to feel pressured into having to adapt to the way I work and
communicate with them even when they are not exactly as comfortable doing so.

The most important factor that influences the way I communicate with others is the way I am feeling at
the time when I need to communicate. Of course, this is directly affected by the environment in which I
am in, so it is really a combination of both. If the environment in which I am tends to be positive and calm
so as to encourage communication and transparency, then everything will be clear and to the point,
however if the environment is the opposite of this so will be my communication as I tend not to complain
or point out mistakes as often as I’d rather focus on finishing the work so that it would be over as quickly
as possible. Once both these factors are clear and I feel like I can talk and be listened to, I will also do my
best to provide my co-workers and directors with the same benefit.

The best way that I feel can improve in my communication skills, is by stablishing time periods to listen to
myself instead of focusing only on the task, to recognize what I feel and how am I doing regarding the task
at hand, as well as to listen to others and thus create a healthy environment in which I can talk and be
talked to, listen and be listened to. This includes taking the time to evaluate myself and others and let
them to the same so that we can all get the positive feedback needed to improve. However, it is also
important to recognize that different people have different communication skills and finding a way to
work around those differences will always lead to improvement in work, communication and results in
general.
