A model clock with movable arms and changeable numerals in a box.

A series of cards, set of corresponding labels and stand.

Purpose:

To enable the child to know and tell time.

Presentation 1:

1. Invite a small group of children who can count and identify numerals.

2. Point to the empty slot for numbers on the clock face and show how to put the numbers in order one
by one starting with 1.

3. Let the children take over and complete the exercise once they have understood.

4. Tell the children that these numbers on the clock face represent hours.

Presentation 2:

1. Ask the child to arrange numbers from 1 to 12 on the clock face.

2. Pointing to the short arm, “It shows what hours is it”

3. Move the short arm onto no.1 and say, “one o’clock”.

4. Continue in the same way till you reach twelve.

5. Complete the three period lesson with the child.

Presentation 3:

1. Ask the child to arrange numerals on the clock.

2. Pointing to the long arm, say,”this is the long arm.It represent minutes”.

3. Make different times on the clock and complete the three period lesson.

Presentation 4:

1. Introduce the clock cards showing clock faces for all the hours.

2. Show one card to the child and ask him to tell you the time.

3. Then introduce the labels and have the child match the appropriate label to each card.

4. Have him check his work when finished.

Purpose:

Presentation:

2. Select the island and it’s opposite the lake and shift the material to the workplace.

3. Say, “I am going to pour water in these trays to make water forms’.

4. Pointing to the tray, tell its name to the children.

5. Also, show the pictures of real lakes.

6. Familiarize the children with the names and definitions of other geographical forms in the same way.
