Background

 Ronald H. Ballou (2004) says that The Business logistics is a relatively new field of
integrated management study, when compared to the traditional fields of finance,
marketing and production.
 Sunil Chopra (2008) Discusses the importance of decisions and the performance of a
supply chain in the success of a firm.
 MGS Gómez (2008) Talks about the quality of the product, which will be
competitive, only if it has gone through excellence processes throughout the entire
supply chain.
Theoretical framework

The supply chain is the name given to all the steps involved in the preparation and
distribution of an item for sale, that is, it’s the process that is responsible for the
planning or coordination of the tasks to be fulfilled, in order to be able to perform
the search, procurement and transformation of different elements, in this way to
be able to market a product so that it is easily accessible to the public…

Because the central focus of this analysis will be placed on the representation of
the supply chain as a project, it will be necessary to raise some parameters that
serve as the corpus.

To begin with, we will understand the concept of the supply chain, in the same
way that it is defined by Sunil Chopra in his book “Supply chain administration”,
We will be able to apply a practical case in the present research work.
PROBEMATIC
The main problem suffered by the industry, from the point of view of the
customers, are the deliveries of unsatisfactory projects. This dissatisfaction is due
to the low quality, high costs and delay in delivery (Egan, 1998; Cox & Ireland,
2001).

The quality of the product or service that is carried out is an essential condition
for the

successful development of any productive activity, however it is a very

neglected by the majority (Domínguez, 2004)

The lack of quality has been considered a basic problem of the industry. Design
or manufacturing defects, up to a certain point, are unavoidable problems due to
the characteristics of the construction, but many are a consequence of the attention
pay attention to details, poor supervision and lack of control, or insufficient
definition of customer needs (Atkins, 1994). Authors such as McGeorge and
Palmer, (1997) call the poor quality of the endemic problem of the construction
industry (Vrijhoef R., 1998). The truth is that the objectives of construction are
focused more on achieving compliance terms and profitability than in quality
(Tukel & Rom, 1998; Lai & Cheng, 2003).

In addition, innovation that could be a way to improve the

quality, occurs at a lower rate than other sectors. The problem is not that there is
not

innovation, that there is, but in comparison with the evolution of other industries,

it produces a feeling of regression (Winch, 1998). The causes of the slowness in

the rate of innovation in the sector are: the uncertainty and volatility of the
markets, the attitudes of short-term management, low profitability and the large
number of very small companies (Atkins, 1994). It is also a problem that the
investment in technology in the

construction industry lags behind many other sectors such as electronics

for the home or automotive industry (Lönngren et al., 2010).

ANALYSIS OF THE COMPANY ADIDAS
Adidas is a very recognized company worldwide, sells casual and sportswear and they
are high quality products, this made adidas worldwide, its supply chain management is
very efficient and advanced since it has representatives in every continent and in every
country.

For example in South America, adidas products arrive from Germany, which is its main
headquarters in Chile, it arrives in Chile because it is a strategic and developed site, where
all the products will be distributed throughout South America. the products arrive in lots
through ships, so that the products arrive in Peru, an order is made for all the products
that are needed through inventories.

The lots of products arrive at the port of Callao and these are distributed to the whole
country, to distribute the departments and to optimize costs it is necessary for a land
transport in this case it is via "Olva" or "Cruz del Sur". these products arrive through
pallets' to ensure the quality of the products. When they arrive at the stores an inventory
control is done and the products are placed in the warehouse that will soon be sold.
SOLUTIONS
As a way to collaborate with companies to face the above-described scenario,
support them in more effective management of their supply chains and facilitate
global trade, UPS developed Supply Chain Solutions, a business unit that provides
logistics and distribution services, transportation and cargo, as well as
international trade management to improve the performance of their clients'
businesses.

Logistics and distribution. At this point, the activities are focused on the
development of global integrated supply chain solutions that reduce costs,
improve customer service, reduce inventory investments and expedite the
shipment of products, resulting in better performance through of the management
of the supply chain; design, planning and administration of distribution centers;
compliance with orders; inventory management, reception and shipment; logistics
of service parts; reverse logistics; and dock dock operations.
