2. MOTIVATION
(10 Minutes)
SQUAD WORK: Stuff It. Instruct the class to work with their squad with a maximum of five
members. Provide a 1/4 size cartolina which has a drawing of a "balikbayan" box in each. Let them
draw some stuff that can be found in a typical "balikbayan" box. Ask each squad to present their
work.
3. INSTRUCTION / DELIVERY
(15 Minutes)
-Have the learners go to their groups.
-Inform them that they will use Reading Circle as they read and discuss the text.
-Make sure that in a group there is a Discussion Leader, Summarizer, 2 Link Makers, and Word

*Discussion Leader: Will make sure that all member of the group are talking and sharing their to real life experiences.

*Word Wizard: Will unlock the meaning of difficult words and share it to the class.
-As each group processes the text using the Reading Circles, go around the classroom to take
note of their discussions.

By this time, learners are able to identify themes in a text/literary piece. As a class, learners will
guess the possible themes of the movie trailers and ask them to justify their answers.

Learners will be working in pairs. They will write a short literary text (haiku, tanaga, prose,
