Tools and Equipment for Meal Preparation
I.OBJECTIVES

A.Learning Use and maintain Caregiving tools and Equipment used for Meal
Competencies Preparation

B. Learning Outcome LO 1. Utilize caregiving tools and equipment;

C. Learning Objectives At the end of the lesson, 85% of the students are expected to;

1. Identify the common caregiving tools, equipment and


paraphernalia for meal preparation.
2. Familiarize the uses of the caregiving tools, equipment and
paraphernalia.
3. Value the importance of the caregiving tools, equipment and
paraphernalia.

HOW IT WORKS.
Each student has to choose one starter and one main course activity to complete (they
have the whole grading to get it done).
There are 4 starter and 8 main course activities to choose between.
Both the starter and main course activities are differentiated. I have used a Nando’s
menu format to give the students a choice of extra hot, hot, mild/medium and extra mild
activities

Just like students love the game show concept, they never
seem to turn down a chance to write on the board. Write a topic,
concept or vocabulary word on an index card. Students work as
teams to draw hints on the board without the use of spoken or
written words.(MAPEH & TLE(Drafting) Integration)

B. Motivation Video Presentation using POWTOONS.

Students love competition. Jeopardy! games can be created in


PowerPoint or in a more advance application called the Powtoons.

C. Lesson Proper

Presentation of the Using the Powtoon Presentation again, pictures are presented and
lesson: students will Identify the tools and equipment for meal
preparation, identify the functions of each of the tools and
equipment presented in the video.

1. Activity Powtoon The Catong Jeopardy Game (English Integration)

The class will be divided into 3 groups of 10 members.

For Task 1,2,3 Students will step forward and give the correct
answer. Whoever answers first will be the winner.
Task 1. IDENTIFY THE TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
FOR MEAL PREPARATION. One representative for each of the
group will stand infront, the picture will be shown in the monitor,
the students will give the correct answer and spell them
correctly., the first to give the correct answer will be the winner
(English Integration) Cut out pictures will also be shown.

Task 2.GIVE THE USES OF THE TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT


USED FOR MEAL PREPARATION. Again, One representative
for each of the group will stand infront, the USES will be shown
in the monitor, the students will give the correct answer, the first
to give the correct answer will be the winner.

Task 3. With the same group, Each group will come up with an
answer to the questions: If you were given a chance to invent a
new tool and equipment for meal preparation what would it be?
Draw it. How will people use it? And a summary of what you
have learned today, the leader will collect ideas and narrate it by
sitting on the story mat(Science Integration)

*Balloon Popping will be used for deciding which group will


start.

*Reward Cards will be given for every correct answer. At the end
of the activity, groups will count their reward cards. Group with
the most Reward cards wins the game.

What would happen if you do not know the different kinds of


tools used in Meal Preparation?

Rank the different tools used in Meal Preparation according to its


importance. (Debate)

What have you learned?

For you as a student how is it important to know the different


tools and equipment for meal preparation in your daily life?

If you were given a chance to create a new tool and equipment


what would it be? How will people use it?

4. Application Students performance based on the group game activity.

IV. EVALUATION

Direction: In a ¼ sheet of paper students will choose two Tools


and/or equipment for meal preparation and give their uses.

address in the "To" field, add a subject in the "Subject" field
(optional), and type in your email's body text in the "Compose
email" field.
Step 4: Tap the paperclip icon. It's in the upper-right corner of
the screen.

Step 5: Select a photo to upload. Tap a photo from one of the


albums at the bottom of the screen. You can also tap and hold a
photo to select it and then tap more photos to select them as well.
 If you're adding multiple photos at once, tap INSERT in the top-
right corner of the screen before continuing.

Step 6: Tap the "Send" arrow. It's the paper plane-shaped icon
in the top-right corner of the screen. This will send your email,
photos and all, to your recipient.
