Big Signings for 2011: were have been busy recruiting for next
season and have made some impressive signings:

Ashley Lanfranchi—
Lanfranchi—pictured right, joins us from Sunbury. A Moonee
Ponds resident, Ash has represented Victoria, the USA and played QLD
Cup.

Bobbie Brown—
Brown— 18 y/o from Bathurst , pictured right. A member of the
Australian Aboriginal u/18 School Boys Rugby Team. Bobbie has passed
up offers from NRL u/20 squads & France to join the Wolves. A speedy
centre, utility. Bobbie will be coaching our u/10’s

Peter Iese—
Iese— 6’ 4”, Peter, pictured right is a mountain of a man. An 80
minute Prop from Auckland. Peter is Married with 3 girls and will join us
late January.

Lee West—
West—27 y/o from the North of England. A teacher Lee is migrating to fuel
an ambition to play League in Australia. Lee arrives in late January. Lee will be
coaching a junior team.

Dean Peterkin—
Peterkin— Another big man, Dean pictured right, is 22 from Newcastle
NSW. He has already coached Senior Rugby League in the local Newcastle
League and is looking to make an impact in Melbourne. A qualified Wood
Turner. Dean will coaching our u/14’s.

Andy Gaylor—
Gaylor—From the UK, Andy was an Academy Rugby Professional. He
worked in the UAE for a number of years as a personal trainer to the Sultan.
Andy will also be our Sales & Marketing Manager

2 more players are heading to France till late June and will be signed before the June 30
deadline to bolster the squad in time for the finals.

Junior Training is ON
From October 25th till end of November
Mondays 4pm—

Ascot Vale West Primary School
This is an opportunity for kids wanting
to experience Rugby League or wanting
to advance their skills to come & learn.
We will break into groups according to:
⇒ Size
⇒ Skill
⇒ Experience
We have to kindly thank Darrin
Cambus—the PE Teacher at the school
& Beth Malouf for their support to the
club.
All children boys & girls upto 16 y/o are
welcome to attend.
Moonee Ponds West sessions will
continue until November but places will
be limited due to training for rep duties.
Schools Program
Our School Development Program is really
heating up. On the back of successful
programs at Ascot Vale West & Moonee
Ponds West, we commenced programs for
Term 4 at:
⇒ Flemington Primary; and
⇒ Kensington Primary
Any school Interested in Sessions should

Matches Planned:
On December 3rd Ascot Vale West &
Moonee Ponds West Grade 5/6’s will play a
match at Fairburn Park.
There is also a chance of a match with
Kensington & Flemington to follow.
Gala Days
Storm Development have organized Gala
Days for a number of schools in the Moonee
Valley Zone for November 5th, 22nd & 29th
at either AJ Davis or Fairburn Park.
If your school is looking for access to Rugby

Coaches
We are looking for expression of
interests from people looking to coach
junior teams in 2011.
⇒ Dean Peterkin & Bobby Brown will
coach the U/14 & U/10 teams
⇒ We are expecting other Senior
players to coach teams
⇒ We need Parents now to look
after younger teams
Level I—
I—Coaching Courses will be
provided by the club.
Oz Tag / Touch Rugby
We are investigating a Mixed Tag
Competition to be run mid week over
Summer.
We are currently discussing a venue
with the MVCC and look forward to
having this kicked off in 2011.
Oz Tag has 800,000 participants in
Australia, although only 200 in Victoria
and the Wolves will be looking to
develop a local competition.
If you have a team of 8 people give
Ross Christensen or Andy Gaylor a call
and be ready for 2011.
