Interview professionals of their success stories in the community on how they were
able to develop the knowledge and skills needed in their chosen profession.

Being in the teaching field for six fruitful years, Mr. Jemarjo E. Salandanan is well-equipped
with the knowledge and skills deemed necessary to cater the needs of modern-day students.
With his academic excellence, he can guide every student to be a life-long learner, eager to
solve modern-day problems using modern-day solutions. Mr. Salandanan is a licensed
professional teacher and is currently teaching mathematics and science subjects such as
General Mathematics, General Chemistry, Calculus and Quantitative Research in Cuenca
Institute – Senior High School Department.
He also teaches CAPSTONE Project to STEM students which is, for him, a very powerful tool
to change the world because the said subject tries to solve issues in the community. Being
with Cuenca Institute, an educational institution bound by a mission to build a society
founded on equity and justice, Mr. Salandanan proposed the Community-Based Action
Project addressing Strategically-Themed learning Objectives through Networked
Environments (CAPSTONE) which is in accordance to K-12 Law. With the aim to inspect the
most compelling complication that grips the community at its core, the CAPSTONE has
become the method of the Cuenca Institute to assess and identify to what extent the issue has
desolated the community. It has also become the method to find a cure to the matter.
According to him, authentic education is dynamic. It is never content with what has been
simply because “that is the way it has always been done.” Instead, it constantly seeks to
make itself relevant by combining the reliability of the past and the innovation of the
present.
