Final Idea:
My music video is going to be a rag to riches story that follows the character as he goes
from living a rough life in a rundown area to becoming rich and famous after following his
dream of becoming a rapper. The video starts with the character walking a in a graffiti-filled
building looking around, he then leans against a wall and looks in his empty wallet. He then
phones a gang member asking him if he’s got any jobs for him so that he can make some
money. He then meets someone to sell them drugs. During the deal, a rival gang member
pulls up in a car nearby, then shoots at the character trying to kill him. He manages to
escape alive, but is left scared. He then watches a rap music video and is inspired by what he
sees. Then, after realising that the gang life he’s been living is too dangerous, he decides to
peruse his dreams of becoming a rapper and decides to phone his friend asking him to book
a studio session so that he can make a song. The video then cuts to three years later when
he is now rich and living a happy life after his rap career took off. The rest of the video is a
performance to the song Top Off by Gunna. This part of the video follows the artist as he
shows off all his riches and how happy he now is. These ideas are emphasised by the
colourful and fun effects that I am going to add. At the end of the video as the song begins
to end, the character can be seen going back to the rundown building he was at during the
start of the video. He looks around at the building and has a flashback of when he had no
money. He then smiles to himself as he appreciates what where he came from. The video
then finishes.

Target Audience: My target audience is 16 to 25 year olds. This is because over 50

percent of people these ages listening to it, therefore the video should appeal to the
interests of this age range as they will be viewing it the most. Music videos are also watched
by this age range the most, with up to 96 percent of 18- to 24-year-olds watching YouTube.
