PERSONAL HOLINESS
LIFE PRESENTATION OR CONSECRATION
ROMANS 12:1-2
The first stage of Holiness begins with your act of trusting the Lord Jesus
Christ.
The second stage in Holiness process takes place when a believer makes a
decision to present himself or herself to the Lord.
BRETHREN: AFTER SALVATION, THE MOST STRATEGIC STEP IN PURSUING
PERSONAL HOLINESS IS LIFE PRESENTATION.
ROMANS 12:1-2
The foundation of Christian practice must be laid in Christian knowledge and
faith. We must first understand how we receive Christ Jesus the Lord, and
then we shall know the better how to walk in him.
THERE RE THINGS THAT WE NEED TO CONSIDER IN PRESENTING OUR LIFE
TO GOD.
1. THE PETITION FOR A LIFE PRESENTATION.
Petition means: appeal or request with authority
Since Paul experience How God take control and change his life after he
surrendered his life to Him.
a. Burden of petition
Urge, or beseech- ang paghangyo..Paul can’t force them but He urge for a
voluntary surrender. To take an action.
Romans 1-11 Paul explain that we are not under the Law, but grace and
mercy. Grace and law are opposites.
Paul use this word Beseech or urge in this or even in all his apostles or
writings as he transitions from theological and doctrinal truth that his
readers know to the practical application of what they are able to do.
It is a word of grace not of the law.
Greek word: parakaleo – a call to one’s side, call for, summon, to address,
speak to,which may done in the way of exhortation, entreaty, comfort and
admonish.
b. Basis of petition
“By the mercies of God”
Warren Wiersby: 9 times mentions in chapter 1-11 and 4 times mentioned
in chapter 11. Vv. 30, 31, 32.
The motivation to present ourselves to God is found in the mercies of God.
The consecration is not caused by sense of responsibility or duty but by a
sense of appreciation and voluntarily. – HE DID AND I WANT.
A deep comprehensive understanding of what God has done.
The motivation to give ourselves is solely based upon what God has doen
for you.
God’s mercy or compassion has been described in details in the chapter 1-
11: LAYOUT THE INCDREDIBLE MERCIES OF GOD. ESCP. 11:30-36.
By God’s mercy we are justified- not only have our sins been
pardoned, we have been given the very righteousness of God in Christ Jesus.
By God’s mercy we are identified with Christ- we have died, have
been buried and have been raised with Christ. As a result we are free from
Adam, are dead to sin and alive in Christ.
In God’s Mercy:
He Forgave us, He gave us eternal life, He has given us the Holy Spirit for life
and service,
He has reserved an inheritance for us in heaven.

2. THE PRESCRIPTION OF A LIFE PRESENTATION
Word prescription: something that is suggested as a way to do something,
or to make something happen. Something recommended to do action.

The transformation, to which Christians are exhorted, is not merely external
change but internal change of the heart.
A change of heart, an entire alteration of the state of mind.
Transform- metamorfoo from English word metamorphosis which means A
TOTAL CHANGE FROM INSIDE OUT.
The of this change is the mind the control centre of one’s attitudes, thought,
feelings and actions.
Paul exhorted he Christians about renewed mind:
Ephesians 4:22-222 to put off your old self,[a] which belongs to your former
manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, 23 and to be renewed
in the spirit of your minds,

CHANGE MNDS:
A mind that will be able to make a wise choice or decision.
A mind that will strengthen our personal conviction.
As one mind keeps on being made new by the spiritual truth, his lifestyle
keep on being transformed.

Gods approval is not measured in our outward change but an inward

change.

As a Christians is transformed in his mind and is made more like Christ, He

comes to approved and desire God’s will, not His own will for his life, then
he discovers that God’s will is what is good for Him and that it pleases God,
and is complete in every way it is all he needs but only be being RENEWED
