I. Students graduating this semester AND returning to home country

For students graduating this semester (February 2019) and returning to your home country, please read carefully and complete all Steps 1 - 5.
 Students graduating & returning to home country will be eligible for flight ticket, thesis printing fee and returning preparation fee when they graduate.

 ALL KGSP scholarship benefits other than flight ticket, thesis printing fee and returning preparation fee will terminate at the end of this semester (including monthly
allowance, insurance etc). Monthly Allowance on your last month of stay will be deducted based on your departure date.

Step 1. Graduation Status Deadline: December 28th, 2018


Please check your graduation status with your department and complete your graduation status at https://goo.gl/forms/7Mk04tWL3IMBmu143 by December 28th, 2018.
* Any inquiries should be addressed to your department regarding the graduation status.

Step 2. Immigration Regulations for the visa expiration


If you are graduating, please make sure you have valid visa.

Your graduation will be reported to the Immigrations by the university and your student visa (D-2) will expire when you graduate. If you are graduating, you will have 4 weeks of grace
period for your D-2 student visa after the last day of the semester (February 28, 2019). However, if the expiration date on ARC is before the grace period, your D-2 student visa will
expire on the date stated on ARC as expiration date on ARC has priority than the grace period.
• For those whose expiration date on ARC is beyond March 31, your study visa will expire after the grace period regardless of the date written on your ARC.
• For those whose expiration date on ARC is before the last day of the semester, your status will expire according to the date written on your ARC. If you want to stay longer, please
change your ARC with another valid visa BEFORE the expiration date written on your ARC.

Step 3. Report End of Study & Notify your Returning Home Deadline: January 18th, 2019
If you are planning to graduate this semester, YOU MUST COMPLETE ALL FOLLOWING PROCEDURE under NIIED Regulation (Article 9, 14) by January 18th 2019.

Necessary documents

① Upload End of Study Report at HURIK (http://www.hurik.go.kr) ▶ After uploading, print and submit your “End of Study Report (수학종료보고서)” to OIA Office
- Login ID: email address / Password: **** (4~8 )
- Login – MYPAGE – [서류작성] - (수학종료보고서) 작성 at the bottom of the page

② Submit “Opinion of academic advisor” to OIA office

* This document is confidential. You academic advisor must enclose it in an official envelope and sign across the seal.

Step 4. Reserve and Submit your flight ticket Deadline: January 18th, 2019

If you are planning to graduate this semester, YOU MUST COMPLETE ALL FOLLOWING PROCEDURE under NIIED Regulation (Article 9, 14) by January 18th 2019.

Necessary documents

① Individual Flight Reservation


- Reserve flight individually (Korean National Airlines are not mandatory and students may use other airlines according to their itinerary).
- You must depart as soon as your scholarship date is over (February 28th, 2019). The departure date MUST be within March 31st 2019.
- Any reservation departing after March 31st 2019 will not be covered.
- You can only fly back to your home country. NIIED strictly prohibits flights back to countries other than students’ home country.
- Please review visa requirements for your itinerary, including stops (check your visa requirements for the transiting country and make sure have a valid visa before you depart).
- Flight tickets for students with Chinese nationality and Czech nationality will be offered by their home country.

② Submit Airfare ticket (E-ticket) & Payment receipt of flight ticket


- The receipt must be either a card receipt (카드영수증) or cash receipt (현금영수증).
* Handwritten receipt (간이영수증), editable receipt and transfer certificate (계좌 이체증) WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
- The amount you spent on the ticket will be reimbursed.
- In the unlikely event of changes (itinerary, rate etc.) or cancellations of the flight, any and all expenses incurred from flight cancellation or change will be on individuals’ burden.
- In cases of excessive flight costs, use of stopover flights despite direct flights and/or stay at stopover for more than 2 days, the flight expense will not be reimbursed.
- If you reserve round-trip flight, NIIED will reimburse you the half of the fare.
- Expenses other than the airfare (e.g. luggage fee) will not be covered.

[Note]
- For those departing before January 4th 2019, you must submit ALL relevant documents at least 2 weeks before your departure for administrative process.
- Monthly Allowance during your last month of stay will be deducted based on your departure date.

Step 5. Request Reimbursement for Thesis Printing Expenses (Graduates ONLY) Deadline: January 18th, 2019
If you are planning to request printing expenses, YOU MUST COMPLETE ALL FOLLOWING PROCEDURE under NIIED Regulation (Article 13) by January 18th 2019.

Necessary documents

① Online request for reimbursement of printing expenses at HURIK (http://www.hurik.go.kr) ▶ Print and Submit your “Request for Reimbursement of Publication
Expenses (논문인쇄비 신청서)” to OIA Office
- Login ID: email address / Password: **** (4~8 )
- Login – MYPAGE – [서류작성] - (논문인쇄비신청서) 작성 at the bottom of the page
- Korean abstract (A4 10 pages or less) is required if your thesis is in English.

② Submit receipt of printing expenses


- The receipt must be a either card receipt (카드영수증) or cash receipt (현금영수증).
* Handwritten receipt (간이영수증), editable receipt and transfer certificate (계좌 이체증) WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
- The amount you spent on the ticket will be reimbursed (인문사회 500,000, 자연/이공계/예체능 80만원).

③ Submit “Certification of thesis/dissertation submission (논문 제출 확인서)” to OIA office This is an example of a Cash Receipt
- This form can be downloaded at https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1UEHAzbMlZ2eYl8PRuXqA5-5q6DFEdZzk (현금영수증). Please Request this
cash receipt to the company BEFORE
you make your payment.

II. Students graduating this semester AND staying in Korea for personal reasons

For students who completed their graduation requirements but plan to stay in Korea for the purpose OTHER THAN degree completion/graduation,
please read carefully and complete all Steps 1 - 4 below.
 Students graduating & staying in Korea will be eligible for thesis printing fee when they graduate. As you are staying in Korea for the purpose of other than degree
completion/graduation, you will NOT be eligible for flight ticket and returning preparation fee when you graduate.
 ALL KGSP scholarship benefits other than thesis printing fee and returning preparation fee will terminate at the end of this semester (including monthly allowance,
insurance etc). It will be your responsibility to pay for your tuition and living expenses in Korea.

III. Students studying for extra semesters to complete graduation requirements

For students studying for extra semesters to complete their graduation requirements, please read carefully and complete all Steps 1 - 3 below.
 KGSP students who desire to prolong their stay in Korea for the purpose of finishing their degrees, may postpone their returns for up to maximum 12 months for
Bachelor’s / Masters and maximum 18 months for Doctoral students by submitting their postponement application. Students reporting postponement will be eligible
for flight ticket, thesis printing fee and returning preparation fee when they graduate. If they fail to report their postponement application, they will NOT be eligible
for flight ticket, thesis printing fee and returning preparation fee.
 ALL KGSP scholarship benefits other than flight ticket, thesis printing fee and returning preparation fee will terminate at the end of this semester (including monthly
allowance, insurance etc). It will be your responsibility to pay for your tuition and living expenses in Korea for the extended semester.

If you are planning to study extra semesters for the purpose of finishing your degree, YOU MUST COMPLETE ALL FOLLOWING PROCEDURE under NIIED Regulation
(Article 9, 14) by January 18th 2019.

[Note]
- KGSP students who desire to prolong their stay in Korea for the purpose of finishing their degrees, may postpone their returns for up to maximum 12 months for Bachelor’s /
Masters and maximum 18 months for Doctoral students by submitting above application. If you fail to report your postponement application, you will NOT be eligible for flight and
printing fees when you graduate.
- ALL KGSP scholarship benefits will terminate during this postponement period (including monthly allowance, insurance etc). It will be your responsibility to pay for your tuition and
living expenses.
- Once you prolong your stay for degree completion purpose, you will be eligible for flight ticket, thesis printing fee and returning preparation fee when you graduate.
* However, your airfare and/or thesis printing expenses may be renounced if you exceed the limitation for your extension of stay, OR if you are staying for the purpose OTHER
THAN GRADUATION.

▶ You must upload your information at HURIK first. In order to submit an official “End of Study Report” and “Request for Reimbursement of Publication Expenses”, please print the
completed online form from HURIK (http://www.hurik.go.kr )
