MISSION VISA RULES AND REGULATIONS

As per the new rules implemented on 15th Feb 2015 by Fujairah immigration, the offshore request
should be limited to two types of visa holders.

01) Employment / residence visa


02) Mission visa

For Employment / residence visa holders their company should be registered with Fujairah Port to get
the permission to proceed offshore.

We need to apply for a Mission visa for the categories of visa on arrival / passengers arriving from
abroad and the procedures are given below.

Requirements for Mission Visa Application:


• Clear colour copies of passport including validity page
• Colour photo with white background.
• Immigration form with personal details & contact details(Attached)
• Relevant Educational / College Certificate copy.(Marine related)

Important Notes:
• Under “normal condition” – the Mission visa will be approved within 2-3 working days from the
date of application.
• For certain nationalities(sensitive) the process may take a longer time (5 working days or more).
• Visa approval is “always” under the discretion of Immigration, subject to national/international
security interests and other relevant screening.
• Please note that Immigration is closed on local weekends (Friday and Saturday) & Public
Holidays.
• Visa is not refundable – not extendable – not renewable.
• If visas are rejected – the visa cost is not refundable as we have to pay the visa charges in full
while submitting the visa application. It will not be refunded by Immigration, if it is rejected by
CID or Immigration for any reason.
• All visas are single-entry.
• Once Mission Visa is approved we need to apply for a CID clearance in order to enter the port
premises/Offshore.
• Mission Visa is only for Offshore attendance on offshore pass and not possible to Exit on passport
from Fujiarah immigration (Sailing with vessel to foreign ports not permitted)
• Duration of offshore pass is limited to one week ( The person boarding the vessel has to return to
base in 7 days and make a fresh request for a 2nd offshore pass should there be a requirement to
board agan.)
• Friday & Saturday being a weekend in UAE, CID Clearance cannot be obtained on these days.

Visa Validity:
• Mission visa (14 days) is valid within 14 days from date of issue which means the person can
enter within the validity dates.
After entering , he/she can stay in the country for 14 days from the date of arrival.

Important Note:

Please check and ensure that the “Entry stamp” is stamped on the passport and “eye scan
stamp” on the Mission visa once the passport is returned back from the passport control desk

. This is a mandatory requirement to enter UAE ports and any deviation on this might lead to
un-due delays beyond our control.”

Passengers are requested to scan & send their passport copies along with the exit stamp
from Dubai International airport upon their repatriation from Dubai Airport.

Please note that the charges applicable will be USD 175.00 for obtaining the Mission Visa.

NB: Cameras should not be brought inside the Port Premises and photography is not allowed.
If anybody is caught inside the Port premises with a camera , the breach will be considered as
a violation against National security policy and will bear severe consequences. ( mobile
phones should not be used for taking photographs)

The situation in Dubai with regards to Mission Visa is as per below(As of now).

Mission visa holders ( Suptds/Owners/Owners reps) are allowed to attend the vessel at
Dubai dry docks but not allowed to work. NOC and letter of indemnity from the sponsor is
required signed by authorised signatory ( 2 originals ). Copy of computer card also is required to verify
the signatory.

Mission visa holders are allowed to attend vessel at Dubai anchorage and Dubai ports.

Below documents required for off shore pass for local technicians

- Original passport
- NOC from the company {sponsor of visa} signed by authorized signatory - typed in Arabic –
hand written will not be accepted ( 3 copies} {Pls note each person required separate NOC.}
- Trade license copy (3 copies)
- Immigration Computer card copy (3 copies)
- Passport photocopy (3 copies) with visa page
- 3 photographs

Only marine related professionals and techs are allowed to embark vessels at Dubai anchorage.
Techs with professions like driver, clerk, labour etc are not allowed.

Issuance of offshore pass is unto the discretion of immigration office.
