How to return the defective equipment or

components from INDIA?

1. Obtain a RMA Number from Fortinet. RMA number is the same as ticket number after RMA approval.

2. Follow RMA procedure indicated inside the online ticket after RMA approval.

If you have an 8x5 – Return & Replace support contract:

“You ship us the defective unit, once we have received it, we replace it”

If you have a 24x7 – Advanced Replacement support contract:

“We ship you a replacement unit, then you return the defective unit”

3. Ensure that all equipment and/or components you are returning are safely packed for transportation.

4. Do not send back any accessories, mounting kit, mounting brackets or user manuals. Please return
only the failed device or any other component approved by Fortinet.
Fortinet RMA center is not responsible to return accessories, which would have been shipped with the
defective unit without Fortinet's pre-approval.

5. Include a hard copy of the RMA form with your shipment and update the support ticket with return tracking
number.

6. Clearly mark the RMA number on the outside of the return shipping container.

7. Obtain e-Way Bill Form from Fortinet.


Please note that e-Way Bill form is mandatory in Karnataka State for all materials above the value of
Rs.50,000/- ONLY, exit or enter into the state. You may proceed to return the defective unit without e-
Way Bill if the value is below Rs.50000/-. Once your defective unit is ready for return/shipment, please fill
up ALL FIELDS in the Delivery Note attached herein and attach it to us in the RMA ticket. We will revert
back to you with the e-Way Bill. You must ONLY return the defective unit after receiving e-Way Bill form
from us.

The defective unit being shipped without e-Way Bill Form may subject to fine & penalty by the Commercial
Tax department under Government of Karnataka. In such an event, Fortinet has all rights to raise a claim
on you for the amount equivalent to fine & penalty levied by the commercial department. In order to have a
clean transaction, please ensure that you are shipping defective unit along with e-Way Bill Form.

NOTE: Once the e-Way Bill has been issued, if the shipper needs to change the e-Way Bill for any
reason, it can only be done within 24 hours. Please contact Fortinet via phone to trigger this change
on our side.

If it has been more than 24 hours then it would be the shipper’s responsibility to work with their
local carrier to issue a new e-Way Bill prior to the return shipment.

9. You are responsible for all costs associated with the return (e.g., freight, entry tax, VAT form, etc)
except for DOA replacement where Fortinet will bear the cost of shipment for both the return of the
defective unit and the supply of the replacement unit.

10. Fortinet recommends using one of the following courier companies:

 Blue Dart Express


 FedEx
 DTDC Courier and Cargo

11. Update the ticket with the courier tracking # once you have generated the shipment.
