1. What is Cryolipolysis?

Cryolipolysis is a medical, FDA-cleared procedure used to destroy fat cells.

It’s a non-surgical alternative to liposuction.

The principle of fat freezing relies on controlled cooling to near (-10)

Celsius for the non-invasive
localized reduction of fat deposits in order to reshape body contours.

The exposure to cooling is set so that it causes cell death of subcutaneous

fat tissue without damage to the overlying skin.
Fat cells self-destruct when the skin gets cold enough.

It's not a new treatment. Cryolipolysis launched in the latter part of 2010
and thousands of treatments are being successfully performed worldwide.

Fat Freezing originated after research was done into frostbite and it was
noted that fat cells would freeze before skin freezes.

Cryolipolysis is a procedure done by a professional and the procedure

targets areas such as the:
 Arms
 Thighs
 Tummy
 Knees
 Upper Hip
 Love handles
 Bra line
 Banana Muffins

2. When is ideal to have the Fat Freezing procedure done

It recommended that you be within 13 Kg of your ideal weight. This will
make the procedure more effective.

3. How does Fat freezing work?

MiCOOL vacuum applicator head suctions in the skin surrounding the area
of fat you want to freeze, then uses controlled cooling (aka cryolipolysis) to
drop the temperature of the skin down to where the fat cells die.
Fat is cooled up for an hour.
The body then eliminates the cells in the following weeks.

4. What are the benefits of Cryolipolysis / Fat Freezing

 It’s Non-Invasive
Cryolipolysis doesn’t involve surgery, needles, or medications.

During the procedure, you’ll be completely alert and conscious, so

bring a book and relax. Think of it being more like getting a haircut
than a medical procedure. In fact, the procedure is so easy and
painless that there’s no recovery necessary. You might even be able
to schedule it for early in the morning and still make it to the office
on time.

 It’s Quick
The procedure can take different amounts of time depending on
how many areas you’re treating. You can usually expect to be in and
out of the clinic in just over an hour.

If you’re targeting a really specific area (under the chin, back of the
arms, etc.), you can generally be in and out in minutes!

Once the procedure is over, you should expect to see results within 3
weeks. To speed up the results, drink lots of water, exercise, and
treat yourself to a massage.

 Cryolipolysis Results Look Natural

After a liposuction treatment, you’re often left with uneven fat
pockets and big dimples. It’s not an attractive look.

Cryolipolysis removes fat evenly across the entire treatment area. To

anyone who doesn’t know about your procedure, it’ll just look like all
your diet and exercise is finally paying off!

 It’s Safe
While the plates aren't cold enough to freeze your skin, they are cold
enough to chill the fat cells just enough to trigger a process called
apoptosis, or cell death. In short, cryolipolysis selectively
destroys fat cells without damaging surrounding tissue.
Cryolipolysis is non-invasive, there’s no risk of infection or injury.
Temperatures used to freeze the fat aren’t low enough to do
damage to the more important cells in your body.

 You’ll Look Good

This is the real reason you’re interested in this procedure, and there’s
nothing wrong with that!

If you want to remove excess fat and look good, Cryolipolysis is the
procedure for you. In just one treatment, it will remove 25% to 45 %
of the fat in the treatment area.

Combine Cryolipolysis with a healthy lifestyle, and you’ll be looking

slim for years to come.

Cryolipolysis is the future of fat removal. Even if you’re skeptical,

give it a try. There are no negative side effects

5. How many treatments will it take to start to see results?

One treatment per area will reduce between 25 to 45% of the fat of the
specific treated area.
As with many cosmetic treatments, results can vary from person to
person, and it takes a few weeks for optimal results.

6. How long does the final Fat freezing results last?

The results of Fat freezing should be long-term. However, this won’t be the
case if you don’t work to maintain your results. Cryolipolysis literally
freezes fat cells, which ultimately die and are eliminated by the body’s
natural processes.
That’s why it can take several weeks for you to see your final results.
Once the fat is gone, it is gone--unless, of course, you gain more
weight after your treatment. For that reason, it’s important to maintain a
healthy lifestyle after having any body contouring procedure.
7. How long does one Fat Freezing session take?
The procedure is quick. You will spend about an hour to an hour and a half
in the clinic when treating 2 areas.
The MiCool has two applicator heads so two areas can be treated
simultaneously.

8. Is the Fat Freezing procedure painful?

Cryolipolysis doesn’t involve surgery or needles but it is possible to feel
pain from the numbness caused by the cooling sensations from the
freezing applicator used during the procedure.
You may also feel slight pinching and pulling sensations as the fat cells are
frozen and pulled out. Such effects may last between 5 and 10 minutes of
the 60-minute treatment time.

9. What side effects can I expect from Fat Freezing

There are no negative side effects to fat freezing
After the procedure you may experience:
 Redness in the treated area lasting no more than a few hours.
 Localized bruising that usually clears within a few hours.
 Tugging sensation at the treatment site.
 Slight sensitivity, stinging, or aching at the treatment site that can
last a few days

10. What is the down time?

Cryolipolysis has no recovery time; patients can resume their normal
activities the same day.

11. How many Fat Freezing sessions do I need per area?

Depending of the size of the “fat pocket”, usually one treatment may
be enough.

12. How many days between sessions?

If a treated area requires a second treatment it is wise to do it four
months after the first treatment.
This will allow your first treatment to produce its maximum results.
13. What does the total treatment cost?
A treatment consisting of two treatment areas where both the MiCOOL
applicator heads are used will cost you R 4000,00 and a single
treatment area where one applicator head is used R 2000,00

14. What is the cost of a follow up treatment?

A follow up treatment is a full treatment and the cost works on the
same principle as the initial treatment.

CRYOLYPOLISIS AFTERCARE

It can take two to four months before you see the full results of your Fat
Freezing treatment. You shouldn’t have long-term discomfort for this
entire time, but you may have side effects for a few weeks after
treatment.

To make yourself more comfortable, consider the following tips for

aftercare:

 Wear comfortable clothing, such as yoga pants.

 Consider Spandex or other compression clothing.
 Keep moving to reduce pain and inflammation.
 Report any severe side effects to your doctor right away.
