Preamble

In exercise of the powers conferred by section 51 of the Environmental Quality Act 1974 [Act 127], the
Minister, after consultation with the Council, makes the following regulations:

Regulations 1. Citation and commencement

(1) These regulations may be cited as the Environmental Quality (Clean Air) (Amendment)
Regulations 2000.

(2) These Regulations come into operation on 21 August 2000.

Regulations 2. Amendment of regulation 2

The Environmental Quality (Clean Air) Regulations 1978 [P. U. (A) 280/1978], which in these Regulations
are referred to as the "principal Regulations", are amended in regulation 2 by deleting the definition of
"open burning".

Regulations 3. Deletion of regulations 11, 12 and 13

Regulations 11, 12 and 13 of the principal Regulations are deleted.

Regulations 4. Amendment of regulations 49, 56 and 58

Subregulations 49(1) and 56 (1) and regulation 58 of the principal Regulations are amended by deleting
the words "11,".
 Regulations 5. Amendment of Fifth Schedule

The Fifth Schedule of the principal Regulations is amended by deleting the words "12 or".
