The event will bring together industry experts from the Latin American region
and specialists from OMICRON, creating a discussion forum on the market
developments and challenges.

With a unique program that includes theory, practical sessions and case
studies, the event will cover Protection and Automation testing, as well as
Substation and High Voltage Equipment testing.

In addition to the two-day conference, in which we will be accompanied by


the internationally recognized Dr. Alex Apostolov and Dr. Michael Krüeger,
in this edition we included two days dedicated to mini-courses in classroom
and in field.

Speakers

Among the different speakers that the event will feature, we will have the
participation of international orators who will share their extensive expertise and
technical knowledge:

Dr. Michael Krüger


Michael Krüger is Principal Engineer for testing and diagnostic
measurements on electric power equipment with OMICRON
electronics GmbH in Klaus, Austria. He studied electrical
engineering at the Technical University of Aachen (RWTH) and
the University of Kaiserslautern (Germany) and graduated in
1976 (Dipl.-Ing.). In 1990 he received the Dr. (PHD) degree from
the Technical University of Vienna. Michael Krüger has more
than 40 years of experience in high voltage engineering and
insulation diagnosis on GIS, instrument transformers, cables,
power transformers and rotating machines. He has published many papers about
electrical measurements on different assets and holds 15 patents. He is member of
VDE, CIGRE and IEEE and works in several working groups of OEVE, IEC and CIGRE.

Dr. Alexander Apostolov


Alexander Apostolov received a MS degree in Electrical
Engineering, MS in Applied Mathematics and Ph.D. from the
Technical University in Sofia, Bulgaria. He has more than 40
years of experience in power systems protection, automation,
control and communications. He is IEEE Fellow and Member
of the Power Systems Relaying and Control Committee. He is
past Chairman of the Relay Communications Subcommittee,
serves on many IEEE PES Working Groups and is Chairman
of Working Groups C2 “Role of Protective Relaying in Smart
Grid”. Additionally, he is member of IEC TC57 working groups 10, 17, 18 and 19
and Coordinator of CIGRE WG B5.53 “Test Strategy for Protection, Automation and
Control (PAC) functions in a full digital substation based on IEC 61850 applications”,
as well as member of several other CIGRE B5 working groups. As Distinguished
Member of CIGRE, he holds four patents and has authored and presented more than
500 technical papers. He is IEEE Distinguished Lecturer and Adjunct Professor at the
Department of Electrical Engineering, Cape Peninsula University of Technology, Cape
Town, South Africa. He is Editor-in-Chief of PAC World and Principal Engineer for
OMICRON electronics in Los Angeles, CA.
