Introduction
A histogram is a plot that lets you discover, and show, the underlying frequency
distribution (shape) of a set of continuous data.
Time/min
When you have too many discrete values to fit on a standard chart, a histogram is
20 mins
useful. unlike a bar chart, there are no "gaps" between the bars. This is because
a histogram represents a continuous data set, and as such, there are no gaps in
the data
Body
Question 1: The following table gives the size of shirts of students in a class.
Represent the data as a histogram
Question 4: Ages of 20 people in a locality are given. Draw a histogram to display this
data
36 25 38 46 55 68 72 55 36 38
67 45 22 48 91 46 52 61 58 55
question 3: A bunch of fish were caught in a lake. he lengths of the fish, in inches,
were 6.2, 6.2, 6.55, 7, 7.4, 8.5, 8.6, 9, 9.1, 9.2, 9.25, 9.3, 10.4, 10.5, 10.6
Draw a histogram to display this data
Question 5: Use the following raw data of the length (mm) of nails found in packets of
‘assorted nails’.
11 48 53 32 28 15 17 45 37 41 55 31 23 36 42 27 19 16 46 39 41 28 43 36
