SPEAKING TEST 11 MINUTES

INSTRUCTIONS TO EXAMINER AND INTERLOCUTOR:


1. There are three parts to this test: Part 1, Part 2 and Part 3.
2. Read the instructions in each part before and during the test
carefully.
3. Examiner needs to ask the candidates to fill in the mark
sheets at the start of the test
4. There are two mark sheets, one for the Interlocutor and
another one for the Examiner that need to be completed at
the end of the test for each candidate.

All details in this document are correct at the time of


publishing but may be subject to change as a result of ongoing
efforts to ensure the quality of the examination product.

This test is designed to cover a range of CEFR levels but primarily


target ‘A2/B1’.
The test should take a total of 10-11 minutes.

You must refer to the relevant instructions before and during


assessment.

1B Buying new shoes 4-5 minutes

Interlocutor In this part of the test I’m going to give each of you five pictures which tell
a story. I’d like you to talk about them on your own for about a minute. You
also need to answer a question briefly about your partner’s pictures.

(Candidate A), it’s your turn first. Here are your pictures. You now have
some time to look at the pictures.

Place Candidate booklet, open at Task 1A, in front of Candidate A.


Allow candidate 45 seconds to look at the pictures.

Part 3
Jungle camping trip
3 minutes

Interlocutor Now, I’d like you to talk about something together for about two minutes.
I’m going to describe a situation to you.

I’d like you to imagine your school is organising a camping trip in the
jungle and you need to think about what to take with you.

Place Candidate booklet, open at Part 3, in front of the candidates.

Here are some things you could take with you. First you have some time to
look at the task
Allow candidates 15 seconds to look at the task.

Now, talk together about the different things you could take on the
camping trip and say which one would be the most important.
