Summary, Conclusion, and Recommendation

This chapter presents the summary of the research work undertaken, the

conclusions drawn based on the findings of the study and recommendations

made as an outgrowth for the improvement of people mentioned in this study.

Summary
The study was taken with the general objective of determining the impacts

of school facilities and learning materials on student’s academic performance.

The research approach used in this study was a qualitative research wherein the

researchers utilized a descriptive method of research design. The respondents

consist of the Grade 11 students under academic track in General Pantaleon

Garcia Senior High School. They are obtained through convenience sampling

method in which the respondents are available and easy to access. The

questionnaire served as the instrument for collecting the data.

The findings revealed that school facilities and learning materials develops

the academic performance of the students. In addition, the respondents also

indicated that educational facilities highly contribute to their academic results.

Therefore, it is one of the factors that can affect their performance academically.

According to the opinions of the respondents and the findings of this research,

majority of the students are not satisfied with their school’s facilities and learning
materials for diverse reasons. They believe that the school must focus to the

adequacy and availability of their facilities of utmost importance.

Conclusions

Based on the findings of the study, the following conclusions are drawn:

1. The researchers conclude that school facilities and learning materials

have a massive impact on the overall academic performance of a student.

2. The use of learning materials such as textbooks and audio/visual

hardware facilitate and enhance effective teaching and learning.

3. School facilities especially library can play a significant role, as it can be

accessed by the students for their assignments, research, projects, and

for other academic reasons as well.

4. The availability of these school facilities and learning materials is not only

necessary, it is also matters that they can adequately addressed the

needs of all the students.

5. Facilities should be updated and improved throughout a student’s time for

them to enhance their skills and develop academically.


Recommendations

Based on the findings and conclusions presented, the following

recommendations are suggested by the researchers:

1. The teachers should encourage active student’s participation in

class work by adopting learning materials such as audio/visual

hardware or software.

2. The government should allocate more funds to equip physical facilities in

schools which are either inadequate or completely lacking,

3. Government and non-governmental agencies should assist in the

provision of school facilities and learning materials for effective teaching

and learning.
