1.0 SCOPE
Arvandan Oil and Gas Company intends to construct an 8" N.B. buried
flowline from Sohrab WH1 to South Azadegan North Cluster.
Sohrab Field is located at North of Azadegan Field, and 115 Km North West of
Ahwaz right along the international border with Iraq.
The major sections of the project are:
- Wellhead facilities (at WH No.1).
- 8" N.B, 50 Km (Approx.) buried flow line.
- Receiving trap facility at South Azadegan North Cluster.

1.1 Terms and Definitions

2.0 SERVICE CONDITIONS

3.0 STANDARDS AND CODES

3.1 All electrical equipment, materials and installations shall be in accordance with the
applicable portions of the latest edition of the following standards, codes and
recommendations:

- IPS: The design , construction , installation and commission of all


telecommunication equipment , systems and structures shall meet the
requirements of the relevant IPS.

3.2 Metric SI system of units shall be applied to all dimensions and documentations.

Special recommendations, limits or responsibilities, supply characteristics and


design data are shown in this Design Criteria, Data Sheets and documents
specified therein and/or attached thereto.
The design of telecommunication systems will be based on:

 Safety of personnel and equipment


 Continuous and reliable service: the telecommunication systems will be
designed to isolate faults with a minimum of disturbance to the system and
to give the maximum dependability consistent with the Plant requirements
 Easy of maintenance
 Interchangeability of equipment

4.0 Environmental Conditions

All telecommunication system design shall be carried out and all equipment and
materials shall be manufactured and tested to meet the environmental conditions
encountered at the Site.
In particular all equipment must be suitable for the rated currents and voltages,
short-circuit and earth fault currents applicable and must be sized in accordance
with ambient temperature, location and utilization.
In addition, all materials must be capable of resisting corrosion resulting from the
environmental conditions specified as follows:

4.3 Climate Data

All telecommunication materials shall be tropicalized, suitable for saliferous, dust


corrosive atmosphere and shall be protected against sandstorm and designed to
obviate the entry of vermin and insects.
All telecommunication equipment and instruments should be suitable for desert
environment.

5.0 HAZARDOUS AREAS

Plants located in areas where there is an explosion or fire hazard, must be


constructed to safety standards using materials which comply with the reference
standards and hazardous area classification.
The classification of areas where there is an explosion or fire hazard must be
carried out by the Supplier, limited to equipment within his scope of supply.
The selection of electrical equipment to be installed in classified areas will follow
the recommendation of IEC 60079-14; the maximum temperature of surfaces
exposed to the atmosphere shall not exceed the minimum ignition temperature of
the hazardous substances present.

5.1 Types of Enclosure

The type of enclosure for all Telecom equipment, installed in Telecom equipment
rooms and buildings to shall be min. IP42.
The type of enclosure for Telecom equipment installed in the process plant and
other outdoor areas protected with canopy shall be min. IP54 and IP55 for motors.
The type of enclosure for Telecom equipment installed in the process plant and
other outdoor areas unprotected shall be min. IP65.

5.2 Area Classification & Materials Selection

Classification of hazardous areas and their extent will be in accordance with IEC
60079 codes as follows:
- substance characteristic identification as per IEC 60079-1
- hazardous areas and their extension as per IEC 60079-10
The selection of electrical equipment to be installed in classified areas will follow
the recommendation of IEC 60079-14.No Telecom equipment will be installed in
hazardous areas classified Zone 0.

5.3 Certifications

All materials to be installed in hazardous area shall be certified by recognized


Authority, except those in execution Ex-n which require Supplier's Certificate only.
The marking requirements shall include the following:

 Identification of the Manufacturer


 The name or type of designation of the apparatus
 The number of the appropriate part of the certification to be specified for
the type of protection used
 Identification of the type of protection
 The apparatus group, if applicable
 The number of the certificate and the name or mark of the certifying
Authority
 The temperature class
 Any other relevant information

6.0 ENGINEERING DESIGN STANDARDS

6.1 Engineering Practice

All equipment’s provided shall be designed and manufactured to the highest


engineering Standards and in compliance with current engineering practices and
recommendations in accordance with the Standards.

6.2 Spare Capacity

6.3 System requirements

All the systems and equipment shall be designed using good and established
engineering practices. The systems and equipment’s shall be of modular design
and must be capable of being operated and maintained by others with the
minimum of specialist knowledge.
6.4 Reliability

Reliability figures for MTBF and MTTR are the minimum and maximum values,
respectively:

Expected average time between failures of a system, including the time taken to
repair the system, is usually expressed in years.
The Telecoms Supplier shall provide details of the Mean Time before Overhaul
(MTBO) / Mean Time to Overhaul) at bid stage for all equipment to be supplied for
Owner approval.

7.0 TELECOMMUNICATION SYSTEMS

7.1 General

All the telecommunication systems provided within the plant shall be of a modern,
proven, reliable design complying with the applicable codes and standards.
Where possible, in order to ensure compatibility and interface connectivity, the
equipment to be supplied should be of the same model and manufacturer.
Commonality of equipment and interface compatibility should be carefully
reviewed during the detailed design phase.
All equipment shall be designed with growth capacity allowance to allow for
possible expansion at a later date.

7.2 SCADA

Supervisory control and data acquisition shall enable the Master Terminal Unit to
effectively communicate with the field located RTU’s via dual redundant fiber optic
cable.

7.2.1 Wellhead / LBV STATION RTUs

The requirement at the Wellhead, for the Minimum Configuration phase of the
Sohrab WH1, is to monitor the critical parameters of the Well.
The WCP shall be located close to each Well in accordance to the area
classification rules. The Well Head RTU shall be certified by the TUV and shall be
located in a safe area – i.e. within an Auxiliary Equipment Room (AER).

The ‘RTU’ shall, in addition, monitor the following critical conditions:

• Fire detection in the Well Head area


• Gas detection in the Well Head area

Under critical emergency conditions, it must be possible to trip all the power
generation systems.
The WellHead RTU shall interface with the patch panel containing the fiber optic
multiplexer/de-multiplexer electronics.
In addition all ‘field’ signals shall be connected to the RTU via hardwired circuits.
The RTU shall incorporate galvanic isolation as required.
The pipeline LBV's shall be connected to RTU's where their status can be
monitored from control room & shut down signals can close the LBV's remotely.
The power supply of RTU's shall be via solar cells where electrical supply is not
available.

7.3 Security CCTV System


The scope of work includes the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of
the necessary hardware and software to provide the SOHRAB WELL HEAD NO.1 FLOW LINE TO
SOUTH AZADEGAN NORTH CLUSTER Plant for monitoring wellhead with a security CCTV
System which shall include but not be limited to the following items of equipment:
 All equipment’s shall be heavy duty for continuous operation
 Video pictures shall be transmitted via the Plant network
 Plant cameras shall be Day/Night type and equipped with motorized zoom lens, iris
and focus facilities. They shall be certified for use in hazardous areas, weatherproof
to IP-65 and suitable for day and night time operation. A sun visor, wash/wipe
facility with detergent tank and pan and tilt mounts shall also be used for each
camera

 All CCTV equipment shall be 230V AC powered from UPS. The field cameras and
camera assembly shall receive power individually from the nearest building through
its own composite cable
 Because of the various sources of power used to power all of the cameras, careful
consideration must be given to the system synchronization during the detailed
design phase
 All cables shall be flame retardant to IEC 60332-Part 3 Cat “A”.
 Above ground external cables shall run into telecommunications or instrumentation
cable trays.
 When installed underground they shall be directly buried in trench.
 At least 1m Segregation from power cables shall be allowed wherever possible.
 Cable entrance to the building shall be via protective pipe up to the specified box
Inside the building.
 Internal distribution network shall utilize embedded or exposed conduits clamped to
the wall, according to the type of installation and material used for the realization of
electrical installation in the same point.
 The conduit layout shall be arranged to ensure that each conduit contains no more
than 5 user's cables.
 The conduit route shall have bends as less as possible and in case of conduit
straight length exceeds 20m, intermediate-pulling boxes shall be provided.
 Structured cabling for voice and data distribution shall be used in all buildings
especially in the Control Building and the Telecom Equipment Room.
 Voice and data circuits shall conform to the TIA/EIA-568-B standard. CAT-6 or the
latest structured
 Cabling standard at the time of implementation shall be employed.
 The details have been described in the technical specification for the Industrial
Ethernet Switches and Wide Area Network.
 Suitable cable type composite cable shall be considered.
 Systems shall be supplied with monitors with mounting brackets suitable for
installing the
 monitors on a wall or suspended from a ceiling.

7.4 Telephone System


The PABX Telephone System shall provide voice communication facilities for managing,
operation and support of the whole Plant (well head and cluster ). It shall allow

communications between extensions and their connection to Plant telephone systems and
the TCI public network.

7.4.1 PABX
 The IP PABX Telephone System shall provide voice communication facilities for
managing,
 operation and support of the whole Plant. This IP PABX system shall allow
communication
 between extensions and their connection to plant telephone systems and other
public network.
The scope of work includes the design, supply, installation, testing and commissioning of
the necessary hardware and software to provide the SOHRAB WELL HEAD NO.1 FLOW LINE TO
SOUTH AZADEGAN NORTH CLUSTER Plant with a Telephone System which shall include but
not be limited to the following items of equipment:

7.4.2 Telephone System Cables

Outdoor telephones (installed aboveground) - solid copper wire 0.8 mm diameter, PVC- or
PE-insulated, jelly field type, 4-wire-twisted, static screened (polyester Tape, Tinned
copper, AL, polyester Tape, PVC sheath Type, TM1, YM1) , steel wire armoured and
overall PVC-sheathed.

Indoor telephones and branch circuits outdoors - solid copper wire 0.6 mm diameter, PVC-
or PE-insulated, jelly field type, 4-wire-twisted, static screened (polyester Tape, Tinned
copper, AL, polyester Tape, PVC sheath Type, TM1, YM1) and overall PVC-sheathed.
Core marking shall be made in order to distinguish twisted pairs.

Color of cable outer sheath shall be black.

8.0 Fiber Optic Cable


As previously described the physical media for the backbone internal communications of
the plant would be single mode fiber optic cable..
The contractor shall design, supply, install and commission all fiber optic cables.
All these Fiber Optic Cables used for high speed communication between the wellheads
and the CLUSTER shall be an armored Single Mode 24 Cores cable with the detail
specifications mentioned " Specification For Fiber Optic and transmission equipment
system.

Contractor shall terminate the 24 core armored, single mode fiber optic cable, at each
node. Also the termination panels for fiber optic cable termination at each wellhead, block
valves should be provided. This termination shall be done by means of appropriate Optical
Cable Distribution Frames (OCDF).
In order to joint the fiber cores in the distances with more length than the normal fiber
length Fiber Optic Closure (Joint Boxes) shall be used. These joint closures shall be able
to splice all the 24 cable cores of each cable.
This cable shall be used for all fiber optic cable runs in plant. It shall be suitable for direct
burial or for use in cable ducts/trays.
All fibers in the cable shall be from one manufacturer for cable protection against water
ingress during storage and installation, both side of each cable piece should be sealed by
suitable heat shrinkable end cap.
