How to Create Technical Master Data

Created by Former Member, last modified by Judy Zhang on Oct 06, 2014

Purpose
Introduce how to create technical master data.

Overview
Connection Object: A connection object is usually a building. An address is allocated to a connection object, the connection object links premises, device locations and connections to the postal regional
structure.

Premise: The premise is an enclosed spatial unit that is supplied with energy, for example, an apartment or factory. A premise can have several utility installations. The premise is division-independent,
you can allocate electricity and water installations to the same premise. The premise is allocated to a connection object and to the address of that connection object.

Installation: Groups together the devices and registers that belong to the same division and are allocated to the same premise, and that are therefore billed together.

Device Location: These are locations within the connection objects where devices can be installed. This means that the exact location of an installed device is determined using the device location.

Point of Delivery: Point to which a utility service is supplied, or for which a utility service can be determined. The POD can be identified by a unique key (POD ID), which is used for communication with
external systems.

Grid: The grid is an object in the SAP IS-U system that corresponds to the service area or part of the service area of a distributor.

Connection Object
Definition: Combined with the Premise, forms the link between the Installation for billing and the Postal Regional Structure. It is usually a building.

Transactions:
- ES55 - Create
- ES56 - Change
- ES57 - Display

Procedure:
1. Execute Transaction ES55.
2. You can assign the connection object number manually or just hit enter for the number to be automatically assigned. Also you can copy the characteristics from another Connection Object already
created in the system by entering the relevant connection object in the field "Copy From".
3. Enter the data in the required fields.
4. Save.
