Lord, have mercy.

All: Lord, have mercy.

Priest: You came to call sinners:

Christ, have mercy.

All: Christ, have mercy.

Priest: You are seated at the right hand of the Father to

give you thanks for your glory, Lord God, heavenly
King, O God, almighty Father. Lord Jesus Christ, only
Begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the

Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives
and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one
God, for ever and ever.

All: Amen.

LITURGY OF THE WORD

(All Sit) FIRST READING

Reader: A reading from the book of Genesis (1:26-28, 31a):

Then God said: “Let us make man in our image, after our
likeness. Let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, the
birds of the air, and the cattle, and over all the wild animals and
all the creatures that crawl on the ground.”
God created man in his image; in the image of God he
created him; male and female he created them.

2
God blessed them, saying: “Be fertile and multiply; fill the
earth and subdue it. Have dominion over the fish of the sea, the
birds of the air, and all the living things that move on the earth.”
God looked at everything he had made, and he found it very
good.

The Word of the Lord.

All: Thanks be to God.

Responsorial Psalm

Reader: Blessed are you who fear the Lord,

who walk in his ways!
For you shall eat the fruit of your handiwork;
blessed shall you be, and favored.

All: Blessed are those who fear the Lord.

Reader: Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine

in the recesses of your home;
Your children like olive plants
around your table.

All: Blessed are those who fear the Lord.

Reader: Behold, thus is the one blessed

who fears the Lord.
The Lord bless you from Zion:
may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem
all the days of your life.

All: Blessed are those who fear the Lord.

3
SECOND READING

Reader: A reading from the first letter of Paul to the

Corinthians (12:31-13:8a)

Brothers and sisters:

Strive eagerly for the greatest spiritual gifts. But I shall
show you a still more excellent way.
If I speak in human and angelic tongues but do not have
love I am a resounding gong or a clashing cymbal.
And if I have the gift of prophecy and comprehend all
mysteries and all knowledge; if I have all faith so as to move
mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give away
everything I own, and if I hand my body over so that I may boast
but do not have love, I gain nothing.
Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, it is not
pompous, it is not inflated, it is not rude, it does not seek its own
interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury,
it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth.
It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things,
endures all things.
Love never fails.

The Word of the Lord.

All: Thanks be to God.

(All Stand)
Alleluia Verse

Reader: Alleluia,
All: Alleluia.

Reader: He who lives in love, lives in God, and God in him.

All: Alleluia.

4
GOSPEL

Priest: The Lord be with you.

All: And with your spirit.
Priest: A reading from the Holy Gospel according to John
(15:9-12)
All: Glory to you, O Lord.
Jesus said to his disciples: “As the Father loves me, so
also love you. Remain in my love. If you keep my
commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept
my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. I have told
you this so that my joy might be in you and your joy might be
complete. This is my commandment: love one another as I love
you.”
The Gospel of the Lord.

All: Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ.

Leader: Please be seated for the Homily.

RITE OF MARRIAGE

Leader: The sponsors are invited to stand as witnesses.

The candle sponsors will now light the nuptial candle.

Priest: Dearly beloved N. and N., you are here today to seal
your love with an eternal bond before the Church. I
assure you of the prayers of our community that God
may pour out his abundant blessings on your love
and help you to carry out the duties of the married
state.

And you, my dear brothers and sisters, may I ask you

to help them with your prayers and accept them as a
new couple in our Christian community.

5
N. and N., may I now ask you to answer truthfully the
following questions.

Priest: (To the bride) N., did you come here of your own free
will to bind yourself forever in the love and service of
your husband?

Bride: Yes, Father.

Priest: (To the groom) N., did you come here of your own
free will to bind yourself forever in the love and
service of your wife?

Groom: Yes, Father.

Priest: (To both) Are you ready to raise as good Christians

the children whom God will give you?

Both: Yes, Father.

Priest: N. and N., since you wish to contract holy matrimony,

please join your right hands, face each other, and
express your intention before God and his Church.

Priest: (To the bride) N., do you take N., here present, for
your lawful husband according to the rite of our Holy
Mother, the Church?

Bride: Yes, I do.

Priest: Do you give yourself to him as his wife?

Bride: Yes, I do.

Priest: Do you accept him as your lawful husband?

Bride: Yes, I do.

6
Priest: (To the bridegroom) N., do you take N., here present,
to be your lawful wife according to the rite of our Holy
Mother, the Church?

Groom: Yes, I do.

Priest: Do you give yourself to her as her husband?

Groom: Yes, I do.

Priest: Do you accept her as your lawful wife?

Groom: Yes, I do.

Priest: Now, please say together:

Bride & Groom:

Grant us, O Lord, to be one heart and one soul, from

this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for
poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us
part.

Priest: And I, by the authority of the Church, calling on all

those here present as witnesses, confirm and bless
the bond of marriage which you have contracted. In
the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit.

All: Amen.
Priest: N. and N., we shall now bless your coins and rings.

Leader: The Rings symbolize the pledge of fidelity or of the

covenant between the husband and wife. The coins
(Arrhae) are a pledge of fidelity and the intention of
the groom to support the bride in their married life.

7
Priest: Our help is in the name of the Lord.

All: He made heaven and earth.

Priest: Let us pray. Bless  O Lord, these coins which

symbolize the sufficiency of material possessions so
that N. and N. may use them to attain eternal life.
Through Christ Our Lord.

All: Amen.

Priest: Bless  O Lord, these rings, so that your servants N.

and N. who wear them may live in mutual love and in
unbroken loyalty. Through Christ Our Lord.

All: Amen.

Groom: N., wear this ring as a sign of my love and loyalty.

In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the
Holy Spirit.

Bride: N., wear this ring as a sign of my love and loyalty. In

the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy
Spirit.

Groom: I give you these coins as a pledge of my dedication to

your welfare. In the name of the Father and of the
Son and of the Holy Spirit.

(The groom gives the coins to the bride.)

Bride: And I accept them

Leader: Please all stand.

8
Leader: The newly-wedded couple may now light the unity
candle. (OPTIONAL)

UNIVERSAL PRAYER

Priest: Dear brothers and sisters, let us now pray for the
Church and for our newly-wedded couple, whose
marriage reflects the union of Christ with the church.
Let our response be “Lord, graciously hear us.”

Leader: For the Church throughout the world, that She may
imitate Christ’s obedience to the Father’s will and zeal
to proclaim the coming of the Kingdom. For this we
pray:

All: Lord, graciously hear us.

Leader: For N. and N., that God may keep their hearts tightly
bound in love and firm in faithfulness. May they be a
source of joy for each other, and that they may find in
each other the strength in sorrow and in pain. For this
we pray:

All: Lord, graciously hear us.

Leader: For the dear parents of N. and N., may the Lord bless
them with good health so that they may live to rejoice
in the birth of a new generation and may the Lord
continue to reward them with His blessings for the
care and guidance they have showered upon their
children. For this we pray…

All: Lord, graciously hear us.

9
Leader: For the family, relatives and friends of N. and N., who
have been there to love them through the years. May
they continue to be with N. and N. in friendship, love,
and acceptance. Bless them with Your love and peace
always. For this we pray:

All: Lord, graciously hear us.

Leader: For all Christian families, that in the midst of the

many challenges of today’s society, may they remain
rooted in Christ, in love, in fidelity, and truth. For this
we pray:

All: Lord, graciously hear us.

Priest: Almighty and loving Father, look with favor upon Your
children N. and N.. Grant them the gift of faithfulness
and patient love. And at the end of a long and well
spent life, reward them with eternal happiness
together with their children and all those who love
them. We ask this through Christ our Lord.

All: Amen.

Leader: All be seated

The Cord and Veil are now placed on the newly-

wedded
couple.

Leader: The Veil is the symbol of the presence of God over

the covenant between husband and wife. It
symbolizes that this union between husband and
wife is consecrated to God. And God through
the Church gives this mantle of protection over
the bridegroom and the bride. The Cord is a
symbol of the conjugal binding of the couple
which means: “They shall be one flesh.” It
further symbolizes the co-responsibility of the
couple in married life.

LITURGY OF THE EUCHARIST

PRESENTATION OF THE GIFTS

Priest: Blessed are you, Lord, God of all creation for through
your goodness we have received the bread we offer you:
fruit of the earth and work of human hands, it will become
for us the bread of life.

All: Blessed be God forever.

By the mystery of this water and wine may we come

to share in the divinity of Christ, who humbled himself
to share in our humanity.

Priest: Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through
your goodness we have received the wine we offer you:
fruit of the vine and work of human hands, it will become
our spiritual drink.

All: Blessed be God forever.

With humble spirit and contrite heart may we be

accepted by you, O Lord, and may our sacrifice in
your sight this day be pleasing to you, Lord God.

Priest: Pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours

may be acceptable to God, the almighty Father.

All: May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands, for the
praise and glory of his name, for our good and the good
of all his holy Church.

Leader: All stand

Priest: Receive in your kindness, Lord, the offerings we bring in

gladness before you, and in your fatherly love watch over
those who have joined in a sacramental covenant.
Through Christ our Lord.

All: Amen.

11
THE EUCHARISTIC PRAYER

Priest: The Lord be with you.

All: And with your spirit.

Priest: Lift up your hearts.

All: We lift them up to the Lord.

Priest: Let us give thanks to the Lord, our God.

All: It is right and just.

Priest: It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation,
always and everywhere to give you thanks, Lord, holy
Father, almighty and eternal God, through Christ our
Lord.

For in him you have made a new covenant with your

people, so that, as you have redeemed man and
woman by the mystery of Christ’s Death and
Resurrection, so in Christ you might make them
partakers of divine nature and joint heirs with him of
heavenly glory.

In the union of husband and wife you give a sign of

Christ’s loving gift of grace, so that the Sacrament we
celebrate might draw us back more deeply into the
wondrous design of your love.

And so, with the angels and all the Saints, we praise
you, and without end we acclaim:

All: Holy, Holy, Holy Lord, God of hosts. Heaven and

earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest.
Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna in the highest.

Leader: All Kneel

12
Priest: You are indeed Holy, O Lord, the fount of all holiness.
Make holy, therefore, these gifts, we pray, by sending
down your Spirit upon them like the dewfall, so that
they may become for us the Body and  Blood of our
Lord, Jesus Christ. At the time he was betrayed and
entered willingly into his Passion, he took bread and,
giving thanks, broke it, and gave it to his disciples,
saying:

TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND EAT OF IT, FOR THIS

IS MY BODY, WHICH WILL BE GIVEN UP FOR YOU.

In a similar way, when supper was ended, he took the

chalice and, once more giving thanks, he gave it to
his disciples, saying:

TAKE THIS, ALL OF YOU, AND DRINK FROM IT,

FOR THIS IS THE CHALICE OF MY BLOOD, THE
BLOOD OF THE NEW AND ETERNAL COVENANT,
WHICH WILL BE POURED OUT FOR YOU AND FOR
MANY FOR THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS.
DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME.

Leader: All Stand

Priest: The mystery of faith:

All: When we eat this Bread and drink this Cup, we

proclaim your Death, O Lord, until you come again.

13
Priest: Therefore, as we celebrate the memorial of his Death
and Resurrection, we offer you, Lord, the Bread of life
and the Chalice of salvation, giving thanks that you
have held us worthy to be in your presence and
minister to you.

Humbly we pray that, partaking of the Body and

Blood of Christ, we may be gathered into one by the
Holy Spirit.

Remember, Lord, your Church, spread throughout the

world, and bring her to the fullness of charity,
together with N., our Pope and N., our Bishop, and all
the clergy.

Be mindful also, Lord, of N. and N., whom you have

brought to their wedding day so that by your grace
they may abide in mutual love and in peace.

Remember also our brothers and sisters who have

fallen asleep in the hope of the resurrection, and all
who have died in your mercy: welcome them into the
light of your face. Have mercy on us all, we pray, that
with the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God, with
Blessed Joseph, her Spouse, with the blessed
Apostles, and all the Saints who have pleased you
throughout the ages, we may merit to be coheirs to
eternal life, and may praise and glorify you through
your Son, Jesus Christ.

Through him, and with him, and in him, O God,

almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all
glory and honor is yours, for ever and ever.

All: Amen.

14
COMMUNION RITE

Priest: At the Savior’s command and formed by divine

teaching, we dare to say :

All: Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name;

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth
as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.

NUPTIAL BLESSING

Priest: Let us pray to the Lord for this bride and groom,
who come to the altar as they begin their married
life, that (partaking of the Body and Blood of
Christ) they may always be bound together by love
for one another.

Holy Father, who formed man in your own image,

male and female you created them, so that as
husband and wife, united in body and heart, they
might fulfill their calling in the world;

O God, who, to reveal the great design you formed

in your love, willed that the love of spouses for
each other should foreshadow the covenant you
graciously made with your people, so that, by
fulfillment of the sacramental sign, the mystical
marriage of Christ with his Church might become
manifest in the union of husband and wife among
your faithful;

15
Graciously stretch out your right hand over these
your servants (N. and N.), we pray, and pour into
their hearts the power of the Holy Spirit.

Grant, O Lord, that, as they enter upon this

sacramental union, they may share with one another
the gifts of your love and, by being for each other a
sign of your presence, become one heart and one
mind.

May they also sustain, O Lord, by their deeds the

home they are forming (and prepare their children to
become members of your heavenly household by
raising them in the way of the Gospel).

Graciously crown with your blessings your daughter

N., so that, by being a good wife (and mother), she
may bring warmth to her home with a love that is
pure and adorn it with welcoming graciousness.
Bestow a heavenly blessing also, O Lord, on N., your
servant, that he may be a worthy, good and faithful
husband (and a provident father). Grant, holy Father,
that, desiring to approach your table as a couple
joined in Marriage in your presence, they may one
day have the joy of taking part in your great banquet
in heaven. Through Christ our Lord.

All: Amen.

Priest: Lord Jesus Christ, who said to your Apostles: Peace

I leave you, my peace I give you, look not on our
sins, but on the faith of your Church, and graciously
grant her peace and unity in accordance with your
will. Who live and reign for ever and ever.

All: Amen.

Priest: The peace of the Lord be with you always.

All: And with your spirit.

16
Priest: Let us offer each other the sign of peace.

May this mingling of the Body and Blood of our Lord

Jesus Christ bring eternal life to us who receive it.

All: Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world: have
mercy on us.
Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world: have
mercy on us.
Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world: grant us
peace.

Priest: Lord Jesus Christ, Son of the living God, who, by the will of
the Father and the work of the Holy Spirit, through your
Death gave life to the world, free me by this, your most holy
Body and Blood, from all my sins and from every evil; keep
me always faithful to your commandments, and never let me
be parted from you.

Leader: All kneel

Priest: Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who takes away the
sins of the world. Blessed are those called to the supper of
the Lamb.

All: Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof,
but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.

Priest: May the Body of Christ keep me safe for eternal life.

May the Blood of Christ keep me safe for eternal life.

Leader: Those who wish to receive Holy Communion, please form

two lines at the center aisle.

Leader: (After Communion) The sponsors can now remove the cord
and veil. (The couple may now sit down.)

Priest: What has passed our lips as food, O Lord, may we possess
in purity of heart, that what has been given to us in time
may be our healing for eternity.

17
CONCLUDING RITE

Leader: All stand

Priest: Having been made partakers at your table, we pray, O Lord,

that those who are united by the Sacrament of Marriage may
always hold fast to you and proclaim your name to the
world. Through Christ our Lord.

All: Amen.

Priest: N. and N., now that you have received the holy
sacrament of matrimony, I urge you to remain faithful
to one another.

(To the Bride) N., love your husband, and be a good

wife. Persevere in faith, love, and holiness.

Priest: (To the Groom) N., love your wife as Christ loves his
Church, and live with her in the holy fear of the Lord.

SOLEMN BLESSING AT THE END OF MASS

Priest: The Lord be with you.

All: And with your spirit.

Priest: May God the all-powerful Father grant you his joy and
bless you in your children.

All: Amen.

Priest: May the Only Begotten Son of God stand by you with
compassion in good times and in bad.

All: Amen.

Priest: May the Holy Spirit of God always pour forth his love
into your hearts.

18
All: Amen.

Priest: And may Almighty God bless all of you, who are
gathered here, the Father, and the Son  and the
Holy Spirit.

All: Amen.

Priest: Go in peace, glorifying the Lord by your life.

All: Thanks be to God.

May the Lord bless you,

May the Lord keep you,
May He shed his light on you,
And be gracious to you.

May the Lord guide you,

May the Lord lead you,
May His healing hands preserve you,
May He shower you with love.

Bless them, Lord, and be gracious to your people,

Make them feel the power of your love,
Come, O Lord, and show your face to them,
Let them know how much you love them.

Bless them Lord and bestow your peace on them.

Please remember the love you have shown from above.
Come, O Lord, and live among your people.
Let them know how much you love them.

Bless them Lord!
