Configuration Principles
 RFU can be MRFU, WRFU, GRFU/DRFU
 Configuration Principles for the CPRI Ports
 The GTMU CPRI ports are consistent with slots in Cabinet 1 in sequence.
That is, Slot0 of Cabinet1 connects to G-CPRI0 and Slot1 connects to G-
CPRI1.

 The UBRI CPRI ports are consistent with slots in Cabinet 2 in sequence. That
is, Slot0 of Cabinet2 connects to G-CPRI6 and Slot1 connects to G-CPRI7.

 The WBBPb CPRI ports are consistent with UMTS sectors. The WBBPd CPRI
ports are consistent with slots of Cabinet1 in sequence.

Copyright © 2009 Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. All rights reserved. Page57
Configuration Principles
 Configuration Principles for the Antenna System
 To ensure proper connections of antenna systems, all sectors are arranged from
left to right in sequence. For example, the three sectors 900 MHz are arranged in
G1/G2/G3 and the three sectors in 1800 MHz are arranged in G7/G8/G9.

 The MRFU, GRFU, and WRFU work in RX diversity mode by default. One sector is
configured with a minimum of one antenna system, which consists of two
single-polarized antennas or one dual-polarized antenna and two feeders. The
single sector with no more than two modules is configured with only one
antenna system. In the single sector with more than two modules, every two
modules are configured with one antenna system.

 Each sector is configured with a minimum number of antenna systems.

RFU Configuration Principle
 Typical Configuration of BBU3900 + MRFU + WRFU
 In this configuration, the total number of MRFUs and WRFUs
cannot exceed 12, and the number of MRFUs cannot exceed 6.

 If WBBPb boards are used, this configuration supports a maximum

of three MRFUs and three WRFUs.

 Typical Configuration of BBU3900 + GRFU + WRFU

 In this configuration, the total number of GRFUs and WRFUs
cannot exceed 12.
