V. Jesus most merciful,

R. In early infancy You began Your office of Savior by shedding Your
Precious Blood and assuming for us that Name which is above all names.
I thank You for such early proofs of Your infinite love. I venerate Your
sacred Name in union with the deep respect of the Angel who first
announced it to the earth. I also unite my affections to the sentiments of
tender devotion which Your adorable Name has, in all ages, enkindled in
the hearts of Your servants.
Jesus, You said, "Whatever you ask the Father, He will give you in My
Name" (Jn 16:23). I earnestly ask the Father in Your Name for an
increase of faith, hope, and charity, and the grace to lead a good life and
to die a happy death. Jesus, You said, "Anything you ask Me in My
Name I will do" (Jn 14:13). I earnestly ask You in Your Name to save my
soul. I also ask in Your Name for this time of election:
 That Filipinos will turn to God and that God will renew our
hopes and restore our land. To protect our leaders from harm and
to bless and protect their families.
 To enable us to live in humility toward God and others as we
carry out our roles as citizens and live our lives.
 To give our leaders and all Filipinos the courage to do the right
thing when we are tempted to do the wrong thing.
 That You will bless us with better leaders than we deserve.
 That Filipinos will be motivated to fulfill the responsibilities of
citizenship while remembering that God, not governments, save
us.
 That we will vote by conscience rather than emotion, celebrity or
self-interest.
 That we will protect and defend the less fortunate and helpless
among us.
 That the election be conducted with honor, civility, respect and
justice.

  That You will grant us mercy and grace as we seek to fulfill our
responsibilities as Christian citizens.
 That Filipinos will accept the results of the election with
kindness and respect.
 That Filipinos will respect religious liberty. That we will exhibit
grace and love to those who disagree with us politically.
 That God will heal those who have been unjustly attacked and
accused.
 That we will never give in to worry, fear, anger or depression,
but will rely on God’s grace and protection and trust the Lord.
 That we will be faithful to pray for our leaders and our nation at
times other than election times.
 That everything that we say, think, or do, as citizens of the
Philippines will bring honor to the Lord Jesus Christ.
 That we confess and repent from our actions as citizens of the
Philippines that do not reflect who we are called to be as citizens
of the Kingdom of God.
 That we will remember that the advancement of God’s mission
does not depend on human power structures or practices, but on
the power of God.

V. Jesus, Your most holy Name means "Savior".

R. Be my Savior, dearest Jesus. Mercifully grant me through Your
adorable Name—which is the joy of heaven, the terror of hell, the
consolation of the afflicted, and the solid ground of my unlimited
confidence—all the petitions I make in this prayer.

R. You shared so closely in the suffering of your dear Son from the
moment that He shed His Precious Blood and assumed for us the Name
of Jesus, till His last breath on the Cross. Obtain for me and all those I

love, as well as for all the faithful, the grace of eternal salvation through
the holy Name of Jesus.
Beg also that a most ardent love for Your Divine Son may imprint that
sacred Name upon our hearts; that it may be always in our minds, and
frequently on our lips; that it may be our defense in temptation, our
refuge in danger during our lives, and our consolation and support in the
hour of death. Amen.

 An Act of Consecration to the Sacred Heart of Jesus # 1
Oh dear Sacred Heart of Jesus, I give You my whole heart. I see Your
Heart on fire for love of me. I want to be in this fiery furnace and know
the love of God. Take me, Jesus. Use me as Your little servant to spread
Your love to this world. I give myself entirely to You and I ask the Holy
Spirit to make me more like You. I want to be a little child of the Father. I

We thank you for your great power. We praise you that you have set us
free from the clutching grasp of sin and death.
