1. As mandated by Presidential Decree No. 491 or the Nutrition Act of the Philippines, the
National Nutrition Council (NNC) coordinates the nationwide celebration of Nutrition
Month every July in order to increase awareness of Filipinos on pressing nutrition
concerns. In close coordination with Cabuyao City Nutrition Council, this office shall join
the nation in observing and celebrating the 2018 NUTRITION MONTH with this year’s
THEME: “UGALIING MAGTANIM, SAPAT NA NUTRISYON AANIHIN!” through a
culminating activity. This office announces the conduct of 2018 Nutrilympics on July
27, 2018 at Cabuyao Central School.

2. In line with this, our school will conduct the School-Based Nutrilympics to be held on
Friday July 20, 2018 at Butong ES Ground, Butong City of Cabuyao, Laguna.

3. The celebration also aims to;

a. Contribute to improved food and nutrition security by increasing access to diversified
source of food for families and communities alike;
b. Encourage the families and individuals to establish a vegetable garden in their home
to improve income through sales from home-grown produce;
c. Promote the consumption of healthier foods especially indigenous vegetables and
crops;
d. Create awareness among Filipinos on pressing nutrition concerns

4. Your usual cooperation and concern are enjoined. Immediate dissemination of this
Memorandum is desired.
