Thank God Alhamdulillah the composer of the presence of Allah SWT, who
bestowed His mercy and grace so that I could complete the Practical Work Proposal
with the civil structural work package-a Of cirebon 2 title, 1x1000mW coal fired power
plant project
Prayers and greetings may remain dedicated to the Prophet Muhammad,
along with all his family, and followers until the end of time.
This Practical Work Proposal was compiled to meet the requirements to meet the
requirements of lectures in the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of
Engineering, University of Swadaya Gunung Jati Cirebon.
The compiler realizes that the preparation of the Practical Work Proposal is
still far from perfection. For this reason, the compilers expect criticism and
suggestions from various parties that are constructive to achieve quality improvement
and perfection.

CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION

1.1 Project Background

The PLTU is a type of thermal power plant that is widely used
because of its high efficiency so as to produce economical electricity. The
PLTU is an energy conversion engine that converts chemical energy in
fuel into electrical energy. The energy conversion process at the PLTU
takes place through 3 stages. First the chemical energy in the fuel is
converted into heat energy in the form of pressurized steam and high
temperatures in the boiler. Both heat energy in the form of steam is
converted into mechanical energy in the form of rotation by a turbine. The
three mechanical energies are converted into electrical energy by a
generator.
In May 2014, the multi-national consortium behind the success of
Cirebon Power’s first unit, began a new journey adding Japan’s JERA to
strengthen the group. Together, these leading companies create CEPR
and initiated the development of Cirebon Power’s expansion project,
1x1000 MW. Not just bigger and stronger, the 2nd unit is built using a more
advanced technology that enables us to generate an even cleaner energy
for everyone. The new unit is set to operate in 2021.
Powering the life of indonesia is more than just a slogan. For us, it’s a
guiding principle that allows us to give meaning to our existence. Cirebon
power was envisioned to pioneer cleaner energy solutions using
technological advances to preserve the environment and to ensure a better
life for all by the power we produce.
Cirebon power is a brand that operates a 1 x 660 MW. Supercritical power
plant in the coastal city of west java. We are developing an even more
powerful expansion project of 1 x 1000 MW Ultra – Supercritical as part of
the government’s 35 GW Megaproject in the same area.
Supercritical and Ultra-Supercritical Boiler technologies we adopt in our
plants are the most advanced clean coal Technologies (High Efficiency
Low Emission/HELLE). It improves our efficiency and enable us to achieve
1
fuel cost savings and reduce emissions for each kWh of electricity
generated. This means using less coal, and producing less emission to
generate more energy.
