Zap The Zit.

Acne has always been a problem amongst teenagers and some adults. It

is not always necessary to spend money on acne products for clearing up pimples. I have compiled a list of

the top acne treatments using ingredients found in most households.

A natural homemade remedy is the right way for your skin because they are not just simple to make but are

cost-effective as well. Some people find it hard to adapt because of the mind set created by commercial

instant products but surely they should be adopted because they come with no side-effects. What you put

on your skin is just as important as what you eat. The main concern for commercial products is that more

often then not they contain chemicals that are absorbed by your skin finding their way into the bloodstream

which can be harmful to your overall health.

Toothpaste - Probably the most common of acne home remedies, toothpaste is know to reduce the

swelling of acne over night. Simply apply a small amount of toothpaste (paste, not gel) to your pimples.

Warm Salt Water - Stir together some salt and warm water until it become diluted. Wash your face with

the warm salt water two times a day (once in the morning and once at night). This is known for removing

any excess oil from the skin.

Ice - Reach into the freeze and grab an ice cube. Then, wrap it in a thin towel or place it into a Ziploc bag.

Apply the ice cube to your acne - this is known for reducing swelling and shrinking pores.

Rose Water - There are a couple of remedies that consist of rose water. The most basic is dabbing a piece

of cotton into some rose water and applying it to your acne 2 or 3 times a day.

Lime Juice & Rose Water - Stir together some rose water and lime juice. Apply this mixture to the face,

leave it on for 15 minutes, and then rinse it off with warm water.

Lemon Juice & Rose Water - Same as above except use lemon juice and leave the mixture on the face

for 30 minutes. This will help clear acne and minimizes scars.

Homemade Facial Mask - You can choose to use almond powder or oatmeal for this remedy. Mix the

ingredient with some rose water until it forms a paste that can be easily spread over the skin. Let the mask

lay on your face for 15 minutes and then rinse it off with cool water. This remedy is known for clearing up

blackheads. This is most popular facial mask among all acne home remedies.
Cucumber Facial Mask - Blend cucumber into a paste that can be easily spread over the face. Leave this

mask on for 15 minutes and then rinse it off with warm water.

Aloe Vera - Apply as a lotion or juice two times a day. This is known for rapidly speeding up the healing

process of acne lesions and scars.

Vinegar - This is known for balancing the acids in your skin, killing bacteria, and getting rid of excess oil.

Dab some diluted vinegar onto the skin, leave it on for 15 minutes, and then rinse it off. For a better effect

dilute some salt into the mixture.

Potatoes - Apply some grated potatoes to your acne for a half hour. This is known for clearing blackheads,

whiteheads, wrinkles, and blemishes.

Sandalwood Paste & Rosewater - Mix some sandalwood paste and rosewater together. Apply the paste

to the face and then rinse it off after 30 minutes

Milk and Nutmeg - Blend a mixture of milk and nutmeg together and apply the solution to the face. This

solution is known for helping prevent acne.

remedy helps greatly with treating acne, eczema, and bug bites.

Cash in Tomatoes to avoid Sunburn and Cancer.

Tomatoes not only gives a glowing sheen when applied externally to our body but it has loads of benefits if

consumed in our daily diet. There are many health benefits of eating tomatoes. Tomatoes contain

compounds that have been proven to help prevent cancer, heart disease cataracts and many others.

the red pigment contained in tomatoes is called lycopene. When choosing your tomatoes, be sure to pick

those with the most brilliant shades of red. These indicate the highest amounts of betacarotene and

lycopene. Though raw tomatoes are great for you, cooking them releases even more of the benefits.

Lycopene is located in the cell wall of the tomato, so by cooking in a bit of oil, this healing compound is

more fully released. In addition cooking the tomato in olive oil allows your body to absorb the lycopene

better. Don’t worry about the availability of fresh tomatoes. Tomatoes don’t lose any of their nutritional

value in the high heat processing , making canned tomatoes and tomato sauce are both just as viable and

beneficial as fresh tomatoes.

Tomato saucedr. Mehmet oz recommends eating 10 tablespoons of tomato sauce per week. "inside the

tomato is a chemical called lycopene," says dr. Oz. "this chemical has a wonderful effect—it's an

antioxidant." dr. Oz says there are added benefits from eating tomato sauce or paste as opposed to plain

tomatoes. "a raw tomato is fine, too, but if you get a little fat with it—either with some nuts or a

little olive oil and dressing—then it's perfect," says dr. Oz. "it helps you absorb it better into your intestinal

system."

There is a magical component in tomatoes that research is beginning to show could protect our skin from

uv damage from sunburn. It’s called lycopene and it is a very effective antioxidant.

Tomato paste

This research was done in uk and it was very fruitful.

Research test was to establish whether eating tomato paste could help protect the skin from uv damage and

uv-induced reddening. They took 23 women who were used to burning merely at the sight of the sun and
asked half of them to eat 55g of tomato paste every day for 12 weeks (giving them 16mg of lycopene).

"an unbelievable 30% increase in skin protection"

As a defence against uv rays, the body tans when exposed to moderate levels of radiation. This helps to

block uv penetration and prevent damage to the vulnerable skin tissues deeper down. In order to test the

efficacy of tomatoes on the 23 guinea pigs they tested the lowest dose of uv needed to provoke a visible

response on their skin. Then they exposed them to a range of uv radiation and compared the damage done

to those who ate tomatoes and those who didn't.

After 12 weeks of rigorously following the tomato paste diet they brought the women back to the lab and

burnt them all over again. Was it all in vain? When tested again our volunteers on the lycopene diet had a

30% increase in skin protection.

This doesn't mean that you should stop using sun block but it's good to know that simply by increasing

tomatoes in your diet you can help protect your skin from the daily sun damage which happens without us

even realizing.

Then in 2006, the prostate, lung, colon, ovarian cancer screening study (plco) raised questions. Almost

30,000 men identified how often they ate more than 25 different tomato-based foods. After eight years,

neither the top 20 percent of lycopene or tomato consumers showed any reduced risk of developing

prostate cancer.

Because absorption of lycopene improves dramatically when it comes from cooked tomatoes, researchers

wondered whether looking directly at blood levels of lycopene would show a relationship to prostate cancer

risk. But in a follow-up study reported in may, no significant link was seen between lycopene blood levels

and reduced cancer risk.

The men in the plco studies were unusual in at least one respect; they averaged eight to nine servings of

vegetables and fruits a day.

6 Homemade Exfoliating Scrubs for Smooth Skin

Exfoliation involves the removal of the oldest dead skin cells on the skin's outermost surface, and has been

used for many years to help maintain the skin. Exfoliation is involved in the process of a facial and during

body treatments at spas.

Exfoliation removes the outer layer to reveal the newer skin beneath. This shedding of the outer

layer unclogs pores, keeps skin clean, and helps reduce acne breakouts. It is considered the first step in

cleaning the face, followed by washing with a hypoallergenic soap, then moisturizing. Exfoliation is

important for men as it exposes the hair follicles, allowing a better shave. It is possible to overly exfoliate,

which dries and irritates the skin. The face is the part of the body most sensitive to exfoliation.

Take Note of : Be-careful while using oil based scrubs in showers as it makes the floor extremely slippery.

Do a patch test behind your ears if your skin is sensitive. Be gentle while scrubbing as our aim is to remove

the dead skin.

Here are some Body and facial scrubs that you can make at home : I am suggesting Patchouli Oil

Home Remedies for Dry skin

Skin is called dry skin when the skin lacks hydration or is incapable of maintaining hydration. Sometimes

it’s hormonal or due to the weather or the lack of moisture in the air like in winter season. And the basic

rule still stands no matter which skin type you are always apply moisturizer and sunscreen irrespective of

the weather.

Main Drawback of Dry Skin

The main problem with dry skin is not acne and pimples but the discoloration of the skin. If the skin is

not hydrated then there is a dry patch in that area and generally leads to dark pigmentation of the skin.

Wrinkles

Dry skin usually leads to more wrinkles than any other skin type as we age. So moisturizing the body is very

essential to maintain a youthful skin.

Here are some home remedies that you can find right in your kitchen.

Body Wash : Use Spit green gram flour if it is not available in stores buy some split green grams and grind

it, another alternative is Chickpea flour (besan) in it your can mix milk and use as a body wash and in the

end for the smell you can add few drops of aromatic oil such as sandalwood oil or lavender oil, this will

ward off the smell of the flour and you will come out smelling fresh and if you want to use flour. Don’t use

soap instead use a body wash specially for dry skin with has natural moisturizer.

Oil Massage : Weekly once treat yourself to a oil massage to keep your skin well hydrated and a healthy

glow. You can use oil such as coconut oil, olive oil or sesame oil and add few drops of lemon juice and

glycerin in it and massage yourself.

For Wrinkles : Apply a face pack containing olive oil, honey and egg yolk and apply for 20 minutes on

your face and neck next apply the egg white with a drop of lavender oil for 10 minutes. Egg white should not

be applied for more than 10-15 minutes. Egg white helps to firm the skin and eventually reduce wrinkles.

Face packs for dry skin

1. Take lukewarm olive oil or coconut oil and add a vitamin A, vitamin D and vitamin e capsules in the oil

and apply it in your face and neck for 10 minutes. Then take a warm towel steam i.e place it on your face for

about 5-7 minutes and wash your face with cold water. This pack not only hydrates the skin but also gives a

healthy glow to the skin.

2. Full Cream (malai), honey and glycerin with few drops of lemon juice is great for dry skin can be applied

for an hour or for a minimum of 20 minutes. When washing the face it will be greasy so instead of soap use

wheat flour and use it like a scrub on the wet face this way not only your face is well hydrated but also the

dirt and blackheads and whiteheads are removed.

3. Watermelon and grape juice is also great to moisturize the skin and can be applied with the help of cotton

on face and neck this besides hydrating the skin also is loaded with vitamin c which gives a healthy glow.
4. Curd, honey with lemon juice is another great face pack which can be applied for over an hour or for a

minimum of 20 minutes.

5. Lukewarm Honey on its own can be applied and be left for over an hour or for a minimum of 20 minutes.

Dark circles Causes and Remedies

Dark circles or Eye circles are dark blemishes around the eyes. Also known as "bags under the eyes," there

are many etiologies to cause this symptom. For instance, by lack of sleep, by heredity and by bruising.

Heredity

Like varicose veins, dark circles under the eyes are usually an inherited trait. The skin under the eye is very

thin. When blood passes through the large veins close to the surface of the skin it can produce a bluish tint.

The more transparent the skin also an inherited trait the darker the circles appear. In people with a deep-

set bone structure, shadowing contributes to the dark color under the eyes.

Medications

Any medications that cause blood vessels to dilate can cause circles under the eyes to darken. Because the

skin under the eyes is very delicate, any increased blood flow shows through the skin.

Anemia

The lack of nutrients in the diet, or the lack of a balanced diet, can contribute to the discoloration of the

area under the eyes. It is believed that lack of mineral iron can cause dark circles as well. Iron deficiency is

the most common type of anemia and this condition is a sign that not enough oxygen is getting to the body

tissues.

The skin can also become more pale during pregnancy and menstruation (due to lack of iron), which again

allow the underlying veins under the eyes to become more visible.

Fatigue

A lack of sleep or excessive tiredness can cause paleness of the skin, which again allows the blood

underneath the skin to become more visible and appear more blue or darker.
Some skin care experts say that fatigue has nothing to do with the dark circles, but it has to do with when

one lies down since gravity can cause fluid to collect in the lower eye lid.

Age

Dark circles are likely to become more noticeable and permanent with age. Excess folds of skin under the

eyes will also make dark circles more pronounced.

Medical conditions

Another cause may be bad blood circulation. Cardio exercise increases blood circulation and may help the

dark circles to disappear.

Dark eye circles could be a sign of excessive loss of water from the body (dehydration).

Simple Home Remedies found in your kitchen

Although to date, there has been no end-all to curing or reducing dark circles, there are many home-made

ingredients that can help make the dark circles less visible. For example it is said drinking plenty of fluids

and a lot of rest can suffice.

Tea Bags

Put tea bags under the eyes for 20 minutes everyday. You can just wet the bags with lukewarm water and

place it under the eye when it has cooled down or chilled.

Potato Juice

Potato Juice is one of the best way to reduce dark circles. Grind the potato and apply it immediately for 20

minutes everyday with the help of a cotton. You will see results immediately and within a couple of weeks

much improved results.

Cucumber Juice

Cucumber Juice is another way which is widely known and most used. Grind the cucumber and apply the

juice with the help of cotton for 20 minutes, this also gives a good result.

Massage

One treatment is to massage almond oil with honey around the eyes before going to bed. This will lighten

the skin around eyes and brighten it considerably. Also, try gentle massage around eyes while taking

shower. The steam from the shower helps for effective massage. However, some say that the constant

rubbing will only cause the circles under the eye to become worse.

Plum Regulates the Digestive System

Plum fruit is sweet and juicy and it can be eaten

fresh or used in jam making or other recipes. Plum juice can be fermented into plum wine; when distilled,

this produces a brandy known in Eastern Europe as Slivovitz, Rakia, Tzuica or Palinka.

Flavor

Various flavors of dried plum are available at Chinese grocers and specialty stores worldwide. They tend to

be much drier than the standard prune. Cream, Ginseng, Spicy, and Salty are among the common variety

flavors. Licorice is generally used to intensify the flavor of these plums and is used to make salty plum
drinks.

Variety

Plums come in a wide variety of colours and sizes. Some are much firmer-fleshed than others and some

have yellow, white, green or red flesh, with equally varying skin colour. The plum's skin is a source of

insoluble fibre, whereas the pulp is a source of soluble fibre.

Pickled plums are another type of preserve available in Asia and international specialty stores.

Regulates Digestive System

Plums and prunes are known for their laxative effect. This effect has been attributed to various compounds

present in the fruits, such as dietary fiber, sorbitol and isatin. Prunes and prune juice are often used to help

regulate the functioning of the digestive system.

What are prunes?

Dried plums are known as Prunes. Prunes are also sweet and juicy and contain several antioxidants.

A prune is a dried fruit of various plum species. The fresh fruit looks like a normal plum, but has an oval

shape, similar to an apricot. When dried it is wrinkly in texture, and chewy on the inside.

Uses

Prunes are used in cooking both sweet and savory dishes.

Potent Laxative

Prune juice contains the natural laxative dihydrophenylisatin (related to isatin). Prunes also contain a fair

amount of dietary fibre (about 7%, or 0.7 g per prune). Prunes and prune juice are thus common home

remedies for constipation. Prunes have a high antioxidant content.

PAPAYA Lowers High Blood Pressure

The papaya is the fruit of the plant Carica papaya, in the genus

Carica. It is a large tree-like plant, the single stem growing from 5 to 10 meters tall, with spirally arranged

leaves confined to the top of the trunk; the lower trunk is conspicuously scarred where leaves and fruit were

borne.

The fruit is ripe when it feels soft (like a ripe avocado or a bit softer) and its skin has attained an amber to

orange hue. The fruit's taste is vaguely similar to pineapple and peach, although much milder without the

tartness.

The ripe fruit is usually eaten raw, without the skin or seeds. The unripe green fruit of papaya can be eaten

cooked, usually in curries, salads and stews.

Meat tenderizer

Green papaya fruit and the tree's latex are both rich in an enzyme called papain, a protease which is useful

in tenderizing meat and other proteins. Its ability to break down tough meat fibers was utilized for

thousands of years by indigenous Americans. It is included as a component in powdered meat tenderizers,

and is also marketed in tablet form to remedy digestive problems.

Skin Care

Papain is also popular (in countries where it grows) as a topical application in the treatment of cuts, rashes,
stings and burns. Papain ointment is commonly made from fermented papaya flesh, and is applied as a gel-

like paste. The fruit can be directly applied topically to skin sores.

The fruit can also be made a paste and applied to the face and the whole body. It helps to clear blemishes

and pimple marks. It also leaves your skin healthy and smooth.

Irregular periods

Women who have irregular periods can consume papaya on a regular basis. Papaya helps in regularizing

the menstrual cycle.

Seeds

The black seeds are edible and have a sharp, spicy taste. They are sometimes ground up and used as a

substitute for black pepper. In some parts of Asia the young leaves of papaya are steamed and eaten like

spinach. The seeds are anti-inflammatory and analgesic, and they are used to treat stomachache and fungal

infection.

Natural laxative

For a regular BM-bowel movement consuming papaya on a daily basis has shown tremendous

improvement in the BM. People with IBS-Irritable bowel syndrome can also benefit from consuming this

fruit.

Diabetic friendly

Diabetic patients can consume this fruit as it is very low in sugars.

Treats Ringworm

The mature (ripe) fruit treats ring worms

Lowers High Blood Pressure

Green fruits treat high blood pressure if consumed on a regular basis and also avoid salt.

Good Aphrodisiac

Papaya is used as an aphrodisiac since ancient times.

Leaves of Papaya

The leaves are used as a heart tonic, analgesic, and to treat stomachache.

Zap The Zit.

Acne has always been a problem amongst teenagers and some adults. It

instant products but surely they should be adopted because they come with no side-effects. What you put

Fenugreek seeds reduces high cholesterol and other health benefits.

Fenugreek seeds is known as Methi in Hindi. Fenugreek is used both as an herb (the leaves) and as a spice

(the seed). It is cultivated worldwide as a semi-arid crop. It is frequently used in curry.

Health Benefits of Fenugreek Seeds

Fenugreek seeds are shown to lower serum cholesterol, triglyceride, and low-density lipoprotein in human

patients. Several human intervention trials demonstrated that the anti diabetic effects of fenugreek seeds

improve most metabolic symptoms associated with type-1 and type-2 diabetes in humans. In recent

research, fenugreek seeds were experimentally shown to protect against cancers of the breast and colon.

Good for digestion : Fenugreek is used as a digestive aid.

Good for lactating mothers : Fenugreek seed is widely used as a

milk producing agent by nursing mothers to increase inadequate breast milk supply. Studies have shown

that fenugreek is a potent stimulator of breastmilk production and its use was associated with increases in

milk production of as much as 900%.

Nutritional value of Fenugreek seeds : Fenugreek seeds are a rich source of the polysaccharide

galactomannan. They are also a source of saponins such as diosgenin, yamogenin, gitogenin, tigogenin, and

neotigogens. Other bioactive constituents of fenugreek include mucilage, volatile oils, and alkaloids such as

choline and trigonelline.

Taste of fenugreek seeds : By itself, it has a somewhat bitter taste.

Fenugreek Health Drink Recipe

Ingredients

1 ½ Glass of water

2 Tsp of Fenugreek Seeds

Buttermilk Reduces Gas and Flatulence!!

Buttermilk is lower in fat and calories than regular milk. It is high in potassium, vitamin B12 and calcium.

Buttermilk is more easily digestible than whole milk and it also contains more lactic acid than skim milk.

Due to being more easily digestible (a result of the bacteria added to the milk), protein and calcium can be

taken up more easily by the body. There are 99 calories and 2.2 grams of fat in one cup of buttermilk (fat

content may be different with some buttermilk brands), as opposed to whole milk that has 157 calories and

8.9 grams of fat.

Recipe of Buttermilk

3 tbsp of yogurt mixed in a 500ml of water. Whisk it thoroughly to avoid lumps.

The above is the plain buttermilk which in itself is great for the body. But to reduce gas and flatulence the

below procedure is more effective

2 green Chilies slit,

½ tsp of Ginger grated,

¼ tsp of Asafetida

Mix the above ingredients in the buttermilk and let it sit for an hour. You can sieve the buttermilk now. This

is also know as Masala Buttermilk or Spicy Buttermilk. Enjoy the flavored buttermilk. Garnish it with

Cilantro leaves, Carom seeds and Curry leaves.

Goodness of this Drink

Asafetida is the main ingredient which helps to reduce the gas and flatulence. Buttermilk helps with the

digestion due the enzymes in it. It’s a great body coolant. Instead of grabbing that soft drink go for

buttermilk for better health and it quenches thirst.

Carrot Cucumber chilled soup

We all have heard of carrot sticks for

munching and it tends to get boring and tasteless after a while so when I thought of a new way to have

carrots I came up with this solution which works in a great way and keeps me full for longer.

Changing Boring into Interesting

Carrot Sticks looks boring so I though of replacing the boring routine into an interesting and tasty recipe

and finally came up with carrot cucumber chilled soup. Soup as we know is a very healthy and nutritious

way of having lunch, dinner, supper or a snack time replacement.

Carrot Cucumber Chilled Soup

Ingredients

1 Carrots

1 Cucumber

½ Glass of Buttermilk

Salt and pepper for taste

Method

Grind the above ingredients and add the buttermilk afterwards in the mixture. Serve chilled.

Vegetables

Don’t forget to have vegetables. Having vegetables with this soup makes an easy meal specially for dinner as

dinner is small.

Salt

Go easy on the salt. Having more salt in this soup can minimize its health benefits.

Feels Full

This chilled soup makes you full because of the buttermilk in it. As it takes a long while for the body to

separate the water from the nutrients. As a result we feel full for longer.

Good laxative

Having this soup results in a good BM. As carrots have fibre.

Refrains From binging

Not only is this soup low in fat it makes you full thus avoiding binging.

accumulated in the face and clogs the pores and due to this pimples breakout occurs.

Don’t over clean  your face: Washing your face twice a day is much better than washing it 5-6 times as

this leads to over production of oil and breakouts, unless your job is such which demands for frequent

This shedding of the outer layer

unclogs pores, keeps skin clean, and helps reduce acne breakouts. It is considered the first step in cleaning

the face, followed by washing with a hypoallergenic soap, then moisturizing. Exfoliation is important for
men as it exposes the hair follicles, allowing a better shave. It is possible to overly exfoliate, which dries and

irritates the skin.

Here are some Body and facial scrubs that you can make at home : I am suggesting Patchouli Oil

as it helps to even the skin tone and the fragrance is great too. You can use other oil for fragrance like

Lavender Oil, Rose oil, Orange Oil, Lemon Oil and Sandalwood Oil.

Yogurt protects against Vaginal Infection

Yoghurt or yogurt, less commonly curd, yoghourt or yogourt is a dairy product produced by bacterial

fermentation of milk.

How is it made?

It can be made by scalding milk, cooling it to just above body temperature, and then adding a small amount

of previously made yoghurt (for example, store-bought, plain, live-culture yoghurt). The mixture is kept at

the warm temperature for several hours, during which fermentation (proliferation of the bacteria that were

in the previously made yogurt) causes it to become yoghurt

Vaginal Infection

Eating Yogurt on a daily basis can definitely ward of vaginal infection from happening but if it’s already

there apply thin layer of plain yogurt which has good bacteria with the help of a spatula, leave it for 10-15

minutes and wash with lukewarm water. Do it for a week till your pH balance comes to normal.

Lactose-intolerant People can enjoy yoghurt without ill effects

Yoghurt has nutritional benefits beyond those of milk: people who are moderately lactose-intolerant can

enjoy yoghurt without ill effects, because the lactose in the milk precursor is converted to lactic acid by the

bacterial culture. The reduction of lactose bypasses the affected individuals' need to process the milk sugar

themselves.

Fights Cancer

Yoghurt helps to fight cancer if consumed on a regular basis.

Aids Digestion

Yogurt aids digest when as the enzymes in it helps with the digestion. You can also consume it as a cool drink by mixing 1 tbsp yogurt with a glass of water, whisk it so that it is lump free.

Relives Food Poisoning

Sometimes when we have food poisoning having yogurt helps with the stomach ache. But do rush to the doctor immediately if you have no relief with it.

Acidity

Yogurt is also a good remedy for acidity. Have it as a drink.

High in potassium, vitamin B12 and calcium

Yogurt is high in potassium, vitamin B12 and calcium therefore its good for the bones as well

as teeth. But have the skim Yogurt as it has fats in it too.

Yogurt Smoothie

Plain yogurt doesn’t set in your palate don’t worry, you can jazz it up by making a smoothie by adding

yogurt and your favorite fruit and relish it with joy.

Remarkable Carrots
Carrots is a vegetable which is easily available and

loaded with goodness of health. Carrots can be eaten in a variety of ways. They are often chopped and

boiled, fried or steamed, and cooked in soups and stews, as well as baby and pet foods. Carrot juice is also

widely marketed, especially as a health drink, either stand-alone or blended with fruits and other

vegetables.

The carrot gets its characteristic and bright orange colour from B-carotene, which is metabolised into

vitamin A in humans when bile salts are present in the intestines. Massive over consumption of carrots can

cause hypercarotenemia, a condition in which the skin turns orange (although effects are less dangerous

than those of vitamin A, which can cause liver damage). Carrots are also rich in dietary fibre, antioxidants,

and minerals. Lack of Vitamin A can cause poor vision, including night vision, and vision can be restored by

adding Vitamin A back into the diet.

Things To Do To Overcome Binge Eating

What Is Binge Eating?

Binging is something which we do when we are not hungry but eat because we are
presented food in front of us or around us. Binging is the root cause of unhealthy
lifestyle. Binge eating consists of episodes of uncontrollable
overeating.
Most people who have eating binges try to hide this behaviour from others,
and often feel ashamed or depressed about their overeating. Eating binges
can be followed by so-called compensatory behaviour, acts by which the
person tries to compensate for the effects of overeating. Binge eating is
often a symptom of an eating disorder
Things To Do To Overcome Binge Eating

Binge eating starts with emotional eating and leads up to lifestyle where even if you
feel tiny bit of discomfort you end up reaching for food, which you think makes you
feel good instead it makes you lethargic, lazy and obese with loads of health problems
physically and mentally.

First thing to overcome emotional eating is to dig within yourself for the
reasons which make you uncomfortable and try to solve the issues with an
"I Can" Attitude and motivate yourself to overcome it. It make not be easy
but it will be worth the effort to make your life easy and make you a
confidant person.
1. Have a glass of water to check if you are really hungry or thirsty, as most
of the time we mistake thirst for hunger.

2. Check yourself whether you are really hungry or just the food in front of
you is delicious and you are grabbing it to taste it rather than too fuel your
body.

3. Remember food is fuel to our body overdose of it just harms the body.

4. Keep yourself occupied with interesting things which you enjoy to

overcome boredom and loneliness.

5. Take up your hobby as not only will you enjoy it but you can also brag
about it later on. As idle mind is a devils workshop.

6. Take a hike.

7. Don't spend your spare time in front of the idiot box where major binging
occurs unconsciously as it takes time for your mind to register that you are
full.

8. Instead spend time with your family and friends.

9. Have regular meals with balanced diet which in turn energizes you from

inside out. And remember the golden rule of breakfast like a King, Lunch
like a Prince and supper as Pauper.

10. Take some alone time and reflect the causes of emotional eating.

11. Write down what you eat in a journal and Don't cheat. This will point
where you are going wrong and you will able to easily rectify it.

The Best exercise for weight loss

Those who are overweight have often wondered what is that

one thing which would help them lose weight the healthy way. We know about the right diet and exercise

and still we crave to find out we could have something extra to reduce the weight. Voila!! Here it is.

The best Exercise to reduce weight is

JOGGING : That’s right, the best thing to lose weight is to jog at 5 km to 10 km per day. With this exercise

you don’t have to spot reduce any more, you will reduce all over the body. Burn the fat i.e weight not the

muscles with jogging.

Is it possible to jog for an overweight person?

May be not, You could start with walking and gradually increase it to a sprint and when you increase the

capacity of your workouts you will definitely start to see the results quickly, and before you know it you will

be comfortable jogging with in no time.

Can Walk Jog the whole 10 km In the beginning

Initially it is hard to walk 10 km let alone run then the best thing you can do is to walk for 3 minutes and jog

for 1 minute. This way you will probably maintain a regular heart rate for that extra boost in metabolism.

Correct Posture to reduce Belly

Keep your posture correct while walking and jogging as correct posture helps to build strong core muscles,

thus reducing your belly effectively, i.e keep your stomach tight don’t let it loose.

Invest in a pedometer

It comes quite handy to keep a history of how much you are putting in efforts and keeps you going until you

reach your session or at least 10,000 steps a day which is the required amount of steps which you should be

stepping in a day.

Warm Up and Cool down is essential

Before starting any form of exercise it is better that you do proper warm up and cool down to avoid injuries.

Warm up will prepare your body for the exercise by pumping blood to the regions and increase you heart

rate gradually. Cool down is to stretch the muscles that you have worked upon and bringing the body

temperature to normal.

Be Patient in your weight loss journey

It will take time to reach to your ideal weight just DON’T Give up on yourself. You may fall of the wagon a

few time but pick up yourself and ride on it again until to reach your destination and most importantly

believe in yourself.

Pump up your Fiber with Beans

"Bean" can be used as a near-synonym of "pulse", an edible legume, though the term "pulses" is usually

reserved for leguminous crops harvested for their dry grain and usually excludes crops mainly used for oil

extraction (like soybeans and peanuts) or those used exclusively for sowing purposes (such as clover and

alfalfa). In English usage, the word "beans" is also sometimes used to mean the seeds or pods of plants.

Beans are rich in Soluble fiber

In a small bowl of beans you will find about 10 to 12 gm of fiber. They are also rich in protein which makes

them ideal for breakfast or lunch. It’s a great way to start the day with energy, this way you would be

energetic and won’t feel lethargic during the day. This is also an easy way to increase your fiber intake.

How to cook

A recommended method is to boil the beans for at least ten minutes; undercooked beans may be more toxic

than raw beans. Cooking beans in a slow cooker, because of the lower temperatures often used, may not

destroy toxins even though the beans do not smell or taste 'bad' (though this should not be a problem if the

food reaches boiling and stays there for some time). You can soak it for few hours to make the cooking

quicker. while cooking you can add about 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder, it's a great way to incorporate

turmeric in our daily diet and it also eliminates any sort of unpleasant aroma if any of the beans.

Flatulence

Many edible beans, including broad beans and soybeans, contain oligosaccharides

(particularly Raffinose andStachyose), a type of sugar molecule also found in cabbage. An anti-

oligosaccharide enzyme is necessary to properly digest these sugar molecules. As a normal human digestive

tract does not contain any anti-oligosaccharide enzymes, consumed oligosaccharides are typically digested

by bacteria in the large intestine. This digestion process produces flatulence-causing gases as a byproduct.

How to avoid Flatulence

Flatulence can be avoided by adding Asafetida (Hing). You can add about ¼ tsp of it for a bowl.

Regulates Bowel Movements

Due to the high amount of fiber in beans it helps to regulate bowel movements.

Aids Weight Loss

High amount of fiber aids weight loss as it makes us feel satiated. Thus we consume less calories

throughout the day.

Great for Snacks and salads

Beans makes a healthy snacks and salads. They are easy to prepare and less time consuming too.

Don’t call it “DIET” and Never announce it to the world.

We all have a diet of our own but when we start eating healthy we tend to call it “THE
DIET” which is a big mistake because this way instead of enjoying the healthy
delicious food we start to crave the unhealthy and well delicious food.
Don’t call it a “DIET”

It should be our lifestyle choice instead of a temporary thing because if it is a phase

then it will come back when you start eating the unhealthy foods. Always remember
slow and steady will win the race. Here we have to set goals and try to achieve it and
do reward yourself but not with food, instead reward yourself with a trip to
somewhere you wanted to go but haven’t gone yet. So the basic idea is to stay clear of
food and enjoy life through nature. So it should be called“WAY OF LIFE”.

Don’t announce it to the world around you.

The moment you announce that your are on a DIET they will force you to ‘have just
this one slice of pie since you have been so good’ and obviously we fall for it and our
body which has been without the fat will store the fat which you have been craving.
Here the theory is that you should not follow and eat just because someone says it
and should have enough will power to refuse and say that you are full and can’t have
it, this way you evade the situation and are still honest to yourself.

Satisfy the odd craving with healthy alternative.

Some times we crave food which are not healthy so much that instead of that just one
slice the whole pie has vanished. To avoid this scenario it is ok to satisfy your craving
once in a while. Making it healthy is simpler and you won’t have to stay away from
anything which you like. Learn which food are healthier and try to prepare it the
healthy way and live life healthy.

Follow these Mantras and see the rewards for your efforts.

By following these Mantras you will be able to follow path to healthy lifestyle with
ease.

Food is medicine, Don’t abuse your body with overdosing of processed food!!
Changing and giving up our unhealthy habits of food for some good healthy food
should we our lifestyle rather than a compulsion with a dreaded word “DIET”.

In this scheme of things the important thing is for us to realize that food in it self’s
are medicine, and all the bad foods which you consume have a negative effect, it’s
just over dozing of unhealthy food. We have to realize that having healthy food will
help us to live without any diseases and our body is designed in a fashion that with
healthy foods we could easily live up to 100 years. Now the basic rule is to gorge on
healthy food and eliminate the unhealthy one. Well you will think that it is easier said
than done but if we do take the initiative it will come to us naturally.

In earlier years humans didn’t have the ill effects of processed food and lived a
healthy life and they did loads of physical activity which helped them to stay fit. Now,
with processed food not only we gain weight but also get diseases piled up with it.

The important thing we forget about food is that it has wonderful medicinal qualities
which helps us to stay healthy and fit. Just by having unprocessed food we have so
much energy for life that after a few months even if you are tempted with the
unhealthy options seeing the negative effect and the drop of energy you will
automatically revert back to natural healthy foods.

When we go grocery shopping some of the things which should be kept in

mind are:

Plan ahead and make a list of foods which are healthy and buy only those food.

Never go for shopping on empty stomach.

Buy fresh vegetables and fruits this will automatically cut down your salt intake as
canned foods use sodium as a preservative.

Lear how to read the labels.

Then read the labels.

Try to buy food with different colors for maximum benefits.

We eat to live and not live to eat!!! Is a famous saying that has depth to it and there is
so much in life we want to do that unhealthy food restricts us, with healthy options
every thing becomes available. Recognize food as medicine and don’t abuse your
body with the processed food. Go for the natural healthy foods and live life king size.
