Capability Document 
Methodology:

[1] Planning and Analysis


The goal of this phase is to understand the exact requirements of the customer and to document them
properly. This activity is usually executed together with the customer. As the goal is to document all functions,
performance and interfacing requirements for the software. This phase produces a large document written in
natural language that describes what the system will done this document is known as software request
specification.
[2] Design
The system requirement specification document is written in natural language have ambiguity inheritantly.
The goal of this phase is to trace form the requirement specification in to a structure i.e. suitable for
implementation in some programming language. Here overall software architecture is defined and the high level
and detailed design work is performed. This work is documented and known as software design description
document (SDD).
[3] Development
The information contain in SDD is sufficient to begin the coding. During this phase design is implemented
in a programming language. In this phase unit testing of different modules is done separately. During testing the
major activities are centered on the examination and modification of the code.

[4] Testing
The purpose of unit testing is to determine that each independent module is correctly implemented. This
gives little chance to determine that the interphase between modules is also correct for this reason the integration
test is performed. System testing involves the testing of the entire system this contributes to delivery of high
quality software product, more satisfying users, lower maintenance cost and more accurate and reliable results.

[5] Deveployment and Delivery


Software maintenance is a task that every development group has to phase when the software delivered
to the customer site, installed and its operational. Therefore release to keep the software operational after release
is very significant. Software maintenance includes are connection, enhancement of capabilities. Deletion of
obsolete capabilities and optimization.

Brief:

[1] GIS Application


+ Land Information System:

1. Digitization of all the khasra maps and to give Aksh printout of the
holdings along with adjoining plots when desired
2. Computerization of Maps according to mentioned user criteria.
3. Enables the user to locate, search, print, Properties based on
criteria like “Khasara Number”.
4. Application had a “Regional language (Marathi)” interface for easy
handling.

+ Property Card and Maps:

1. The system is being implemented at the Collector Office under the


"Setu System".
2. It is on BOT (Build Operate & Transfer) concept wherein the Govt.
saves on initial investments.
3. The records pertaining to land holdings can be preserved for long
and moreover the records cannot be manipulated.
4. The process involves computerization of Cadastral Maps, Linking
of maps with database.
5. Finally development of Application Software for the query and print of the cadastral maps.
6. The interface was developed in local language (Marathi) that considerably helps the user to issue the print.

+ Railways Land Information System:

1. Vectorisation of all the land plans.


2. It carries out a chain age at set interval along the track in the
Railway Boundary.
3. Features like ROBs (Road Over Bridge), RUBs (Road Under
Bridge), FOBs (Foot Over Bridge), Level Crossings and ES
(Electric Struts), etc were marked on the Maps.
4. Land plans were then certified by the local revenue/land authority &
converted and stored as computer
5. drawings and such data base to be maintained in a Land Information System.
6. It enables the client to query for location on different entities e.g. encroachments, ES, FOB, ROB, RUB, Signals,
Platforms etc., on the Railway Land Plans.
7. It was designed and developed using Autodesk Map, one of the most popular & user friendly platform

+ Customer Relationship Management System (Water Utility):

1. Web GIS application facilitates online services, secure access to


live up-to-date geospatial information.
2. Tracing of water distribution network, right from reservoir to meters
and from meter to consumer
3. Facility of online billing is there which save consumer time.
4. Online registration of consumer complaint and these complaint then
can be tracked by dept. office by using location intelligence of web
gis application.
5. This location base complaint can also be send to respective offices by SMS gateway facility in real-time through this
application.
