▼ Liz Titus– President
RE: NOMINEES FOR SEVENTEENTH JUDICIAL DISTRICT
▼ Eric Kuhn – Vice President

▼ Jason Cobb – Past President Dear Governor Ritter:

▼ Kevin Bemis – Treasurer
I am writing on behalf of the Colorado Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and
▼ Jessica Boynton – Secretary Transgender Bar Association to provide our input and endorsement
regarding the nominees for two judicial vacancies in the
▼ Susie Roh & Sarah Hall – Special
Events Seventeenth Judicial District.

▼ Andy McCallin - Community We completed our endorsements process for all nominees but one;
Outreach
we were unable to reach Teri Vasquez. For the other five nominees,
▼ Mindy Barton– Ex Officio we conducted interviews and reviewed their written materials. All
(CLIP Legal Director) and Public five were interested in our endorsement.
Policy Chair

▼ Katina Banks & Jason Prussman – The candidates we interviewed are all highly qualified individuals.
Judicial Endorsements Committee The Nominating Commission should be proud once again for the
Co-
Co-Chairs
fine slate of lawyers it has provided for your consideration. We also
▼ Jon Corrigan – Student Rep believe these five candidates understand the legal challenges that
(CU Law)
GLBT community faces and would be fair and impartial in that
▼ Diana Bull – Student Rep regard.
(DU Law)

▼ Ryann Peyton - At Large

Ultimately, however, we voted to endorse Cynthia J. Kowert and
Craig Welling. We have previously endorsed Ms. Kowert and
▼ Alyssa Yatsko - At Large continue to be impressed by her background, experience and strong
sense of fairness. She will make an excellent judge. We were
similarly impressed by Mr. Welling’s unique and diverse
background, including his policy experience, as well as his prior
civil and government practices. Mr. Welling has a notable
enthusiasm for this position and a demonstrated commitment to
public service. He will make a highly competent, thoughtful judge.

Thank you for your consideration.

Very truly yours,
