Before joining the FBI, Mr. Dickerson served as a corrections officer for
the Indiana Department of Corrections. From his experience there, he
believes Corrections in Loudoun need to be enforced a certain way. Mr.
Dickerson said, “Jails should be used for punishment, not recreational
activity. As Sheriff, I would make sure of it.”
Mr. Dickerson continued: “Crimes happen less when police are present.
I will work hard to make sure that deputies are visible and accessible
to the community. Our roads must be safer. We must crack down on
drunk driving and other infractions for the safety of the population and
the continued expansion of commerce.”
Verne Dickerson has lived with his loving wife Kathy in Leesburg for 12
years. He has two children and two grandchildren and is an active
Christian. Verne graduated with a Bachelors of Science from Indiana
State University in Terre Haute in 1971. To find out more about Verne
