Surya Ganga™ Performance
Solar Semiconductor’s Surya Ganga™ SPV
pump systems are designed for reliable power
supply to drive pump sets for water in remote
and rural areas. This is ideally suited for
locations where grid electricity is either not
available or not reliable. Surya Ganga™ is
competitive and cheaper than diesel pumps
over its lifetime. This is due to the fact that
SPV system does not incur any fuel costs. O&M
and replacement costs are also minimal.

on the daily water requirement and the
vertical head (total height to which water

How does Surya Ganga™ SPV
pump system operate?
The solar panels that are part of the Surya
Ganga™ SPV pump system convert sunlight
into electricity. This electricity is used to drive
a motor, which in turn is used to drive a variety
of pumps including DC or AC pumps. The
pump may be submersible or above water. The
Surya Ganga™ system can be used for pumps
of various sizes from 1 to 25 HP, covering
virtually all applications. Systems can be
configured such that during the available
sunlight hours, water can be pumped to meet
the demand requirements. The pump can
switch to grid electricity when sunlight is not
available.
